yeah i think people are mixing up being a producer vs making the beat
kanye is weak for claiming he ghost produce
i mean dont get it wrong some producers just slap their names on track

If you add a melody or piano under a beat or a whistle or horns or slow it down or speed it up you can claim all producer credit?

A beat maker can give you a basic blueprint
A 1,2,3,4 tempo or think of it as a continuous loop
The producer will then do the work
Add melodies whether it’s keys or strings
Put an intro to build into the actual loop
Drops in and out of the beat so it doesn’t sound boring to the ear
Think of the producer as the conductor of the orchestra
