What's the obsession with Eminem amongst rappers in the industry? He's legit. We know he can rap, but whenever I listen to interviews his name comes up like he's top 5. Why? They'll say he's lyrically this or that but don't recite a verse or multiple verses that point to some legendary talent. Outside of renegade with Jay Z.... what are other legendary bars?

Honestly when rappers speak about Eminem, they're talking about his lyrical skill and ability.
Myself included and no I'm not a rapper.
I doubt that they actually listen to Eminem and neither do I. I've listened to his earlier music but haven't really listened to him in years. But I respect and know of his skills and lyrical ability.
And when the say too 5, it's purely based off of skill and lyrical ability and not his musical catalog.

Eminem's popular and his music sells because he's white. So when it comes to albums sales and him selling the most albums in rap, it's because he's white.
Meaning the majority of his fans are white, there's more white people in the United States so his numbers will be inflated.
I've seen and heard white fans say that they don't listen to rap, but they listen to Eminem and he's their favorite rapper.
Similarly to comparing Taylor Swift and Beyonce. Taylor's huge and the biggest pop star now. Of course she'll sell more than Beyonce because there's more white people that buy her music.

Of course there's Black people that listen to and buy Eminem's music. You've seen it for yourself. I didn't say that no Black people on Earth listened to his music, I just feel that the majority don't f Black Hip Hop fans aren't checkin for Eminem.
