Finished watching it this morning. Pretty good documentary. The Grantland article from a few months ago covered most of this before hand. Got more out of the Pistons Bad Boys documentary than this one.

That poll was the nail in the coffin for the Magic. That person should have been fired.:smh:

I just don't understand fans sometimes, they said he wasn't worth the money and then turn around and get mad when he left.... :smh:

Naaaa... Just white fans... They hate to see black folks feel they deserve something for something white people dont think is worth that much money. The American way is to cash in when you have the chance. But only when it comes to whites. Getting 100s of millions to fuck over your fellow man is all Kool and the gang, but to "Play a game???" Nope, you cant do that. Notice they never give a shit about white baseball players, or hockey players, or golfers making bank though...

?????

Mike fucked penny completely up

We dismantled that team after the 96 series

And fuck Horace grant too

Bitch ass nigga

Horace had to go to pave the way for the second run though. I like Horace, he was very underrated defensively, and he could stretch the floor even back then. But Rodman, and Kukoc came in to fil his position that gave the team more flexibility and mismatches.

Amazing how the Miami Heat and Orlando have taken such different paths

That and nothing against the fam in Orlando........ But Miami are Orlando couldnt be more different. 1 would appeal to any young, wealthy person at the top of their profession... The other is a place old people retire to, you take the kids, and cant wait to leave.

I still don't understand how Orlando has a team. What the hell is there besides Disney World? Who lives there besides people who work at Disney World?

Aww man finally got to watch it.

Shit was special man. A few things.

Alright so around this time i'm a young'n and not even 10 years old yet but I didn't know MJ lost to the Magic. I didn't know they beat a Bulls team with MJ. You never hear that shit mentioned.

I didn't know Nick Anderson missed 4 free throws in a row. Got lucky to get the offensive rebound because the brick was so bad and missed 2 more. That's wild as hell. The NBA and sports in general is such a mind fuck and all about momentum. You could argue that them Nick Anderson free throws potentially set things to drift apart like it did.

So the biggest shit I took from this.....these dudes got two 1st overall picks two years in a row. I have NEVER seen a team who was as good as the Magic were which was average to below average jump in front of EVERYONE like that. I'm shocked you conspiracy theorists never talk about that.

Shaq was such a fucking beast man. He was dominant even when he gained more weight but man......those clips man you forget how special he was.

Hakeem mind fucking him was CLASSIC.

People have said it in here but Penny was a savage on the court. Dude's game was before its time. His skill set looks like what you see from most dudes today. 6'7 point guard with his skill set.......its a shame the injuries hit him.

That Orlando top 5 is legendary. Like how many teams can sit there and roll out Shaq at the 5, Horace at the 4, Dennis at the 3, Nick at the 2 and Penny at the 1 and most of them were at the prime of their career. Nick and Dennis were never superstars but they way that Orlando team was assembled was in credible. They just sat there and drafted for need each year and hit on most of those picks. Even had a young Bison Dele......

Damn I use to love Orlando but I never knew how much of a clusterfuck they were getting swept nearly every year when they got to the post season. I don't remember it now but when I see teams do shit like that you gotta question coaching. Youth plays part in that but that Brian Hill should've had that under control.

Yeah when I was watching the part when they got back to back 1st round picks I was like wow that's some Cleveland Cavaliers shit. They were a expansion team plus they got a superstar in Shaq the year before so the NBA hooked them up.

They did the same thing with OKC. There was definitely some fuckery going on. Shaq was huge after his rookie year, they needed that team to become good to hitch their wagon to Orlando. Notice neither really worked out. The Bulls getting Rose in that flukey ass shit hasn't worked either. Or Ewing in NY. Can't win when you rig it like that.

Yeah it hasn't. I don't remember the Thudner though how did that work? I thought they were trash when they got all of them dudes? I seem to remember the Rockets being bad but not bad enough to the 1st pick to get Yao.

But that shit right here man......that's really some remarkable shit. Isn't it like a 1% chance you get that #1 pick when you just missed the playoffs like that?

I always wondered how the hell they got Penny and Shaq. I thought it was from some trade. I didn't know they actually got the 1st overall pick TWICE. I just knew the Magic couldn't have been bad enough to get that pick. Them cats won 42 games and got the #1 overall pick. Conspiracy theorists should be irate.

OKC got 3 top 5 picks 3 years in a row. Yeah Seattle sucked the year they got Durant. But after his rookie year, them moving to OKC that shit lined up just right, then the next year with Harden and Ibaka??? Come on man. They went that bad. The shit always seems to work out with new teams with stars. L.J. in Charlotte too. People don't remember how dope L.J. was before the back injury.

You could argue the NBA didn't really rig that one. David Robinson got hurt and missed most if not all the season and they lost like 60 games to get that pick. It worked out for the best. But that one could be legitimate.

The Spurs tanked that year. Robinson was healthy enough to come back and they sat him. Sucked cause they had Dominique Wilkins that season.

Yeah but I can see that. We talking about two 1st overall picks including one year you won 42 games and was a game away from being in the playoffs. Teams one game away from being in the playoffs don't get a 1st overall pick lol.

GREAT documentary. Took me back fo real.

Yo I IDOLIZED Penny man. When i was younger, EVERY chance I got I was on the court trying to play like him. His game was so fuckin COLD! Like a silent assassin. Hops like a muthafuka, fast as shit, dishing da rock never looked better to me (since Magic). Aw man, I never got into da whole Kobe/Lebron shit cuz Penny was dat dude before all of them, and it was such a shame that injuries fucked his shit up.

Youth is what brought everything down in da end. Shaq catchin feelings bout obvious shit. Execs goin cheap on Shaq, then losing him to LA. Orlando fans was assholes for real. It was tough reliving that finals w/ da free throws.

Glad to see Shaq & Penny still kickin it, makin moves together!

Low-key what fucked them was Alonzo Mourning and the Heat. Shaq was cool with the 80 million until Mourning got that 100.....

I agree about Penny. Penny set the blueprint for Kobe and Bron.

And I really liked seeing Shaq and Penny together. I use to always hear the rumors about them not liking each other. They seem to have that bond that's gonna be forever and it should....they been knowing each other 20 years now at least.

I didn't speak it on it above but I also thought Blue Chips came AFTER Penny got drafted. I didn't know Penny and Shaq weren't teammates yet. Crazy.....
