This just doesn’t make sense.. why does he look like Spider man ... if there is no Spider-Man

And Eddie Brock works as the down on his luck asshole beat reporter. This trailer makes it seem like Eddie has some respect in journalism.

Tom Hardy is a legend... so dude is going to bring it. I’d go just to see him... but this trailer didn’t overwhelm me with confidence...

Tom Hardy looks like he gonna bring damn near Oscar worthy performance outta this

but I aint the biggest Venom fan at all

but this is what a Venom movie would be...

no more no less

I think THOSE fans?

Gonna LOVE this.

Its gonna be their Deadpool and they lucked out getting one of the best actors out to play that character...

It should be fine

I think ACTING wise it is STILL gonna get props

but it aint raising the bar.

But its good that lesser characters are getting big budgets and major talent to bring them out

even though this looks VERY by the numbers and worse...

VERY much a spiderman rip off.

ESPECIALLY to the uninitiated.

SO NOT acknowledging Spideman at all?

I’m a massive Venom Fan and this is a fail for me... I’m going to watch it cause it’s venom but this is just to much change to the backstory. I mean .. the venom symbiotes feeling of abandonment when rejected by peter Parker and Brock’s hatred at Peter Parker and Spider-Man... goes to explain why they work so well... and then it makes it feel earned when Venom becomes the Anti-hero... because basically it was cause Brock saw he could be better but also as middle finger to Spider-Man as a “anything you can do I can better” type of thing.


Like Spider-Man is the connective tissue..... that makes it work. Taking out Spider-Man is the equivalent of having Bruce Wayne’s parents never robbed and they are both alive and kicking...

They are going cheap on the sfx, and filming of the stunts
My guess is that the writing and editing will be just as half assed

expect a poorly done b movie that happens to have Tom Hardy as a star

If Sony thinks it has a hit there will be marketing partnerships over the summer
iI expect them to skimp on marketing

To be on the real this would have worked better if Sony introduced venom in their aborted Sinister Six movie.... at least in that movie you could have used Doc Oct to introduce the symbiote and the spider man connections without actually having Spider man show... Have Venom do a couple jobs with the Six... then have Venom have that anti-hero heroic moment and start taking down the Six. Bam... Venom becomes his own separate franchise with his own set of villians.. and you don’t need Spidernam. That took me two seconds to come up with.

I’m telling you right now... that that scene with the full venom suit will be the last five minutes of the movie.


My guess is that the movie is basically going to be Eddie running around trying to escape the government dudes while trying to track down the missing girl to see if she can show him how to get rid of the symbiote.... with underneath story of the symbiote and Eddie battling for control until at the end they realize that they need each other in order to defeat the “Perfect Venom Symbiote” Code X1 or a wasted Cameo appearance of Carnage...

But more then likely Carnage will be brought during the credits by some shadowy government dude who says something like “project venom was a failure .... time to go with The Carnage Program” and then they slowly pan out to the same tubes that we say in the trailer except that it contains a red symbiote.

I saw the second vid first and I just knew that corny looking shit couldn’t have been done by Marvel!

Then I watched the first vid and seeing “Sony” made a lot of sense.​

Venom without Spiderman is a fail in my opinion. Sony hasn't learned their lesson yet, they suck at making super hero movies. The CGI doesn't look top notch. Hardy's acting is what will carry this movie not the story. I think this movie will be DOA. Marvel should put Venom in the next Spiderman movie just to stick it to Sony.

I think it's going to be a hit. With all the Spiderman boots and reboots and the introduction of Venom in one of those, I think SONY/Marvel's hoping to have the bandwagon move forward with this movie and having Spidy involved in a follow up.

Marvel is not involved with this movie at all. Sony couldn't produce a hit Spiderman movie so they made a deal with Marvel cause Marvel wanted to use Spiderman. All these standalone spiderman characters like Venom, Black Cat, and other's that are being made into movies is all Sony. Ever since Sam Raimi's Spiderman series ended, Sony can't make a hit Spiderman, that's why they made the deal with Marvel. All those other characters won't be part of this new Spiderman's world. So they will have standalone movies without Spiderman, just like this Venom Movie.

I would argue you aren't like the average HUGE Venom fan...

they aren't going to be as critical they just gonna be happy its happening and its not complete and utter sh*t

I feel like it will be a "dead[pool" situation and make ore than expected solely based on the fan loyalty

now AFTER that?

but it does look like Hardy is going to DRAG this sh*t to the finish line

Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock is not a sell to me, the acting in this trailer really sucks, but the action sequences looks good though.
