True.

Just like making it at home and then completely f**king it up.

To me the coolest thing about cooking at home besides economics is making food for family eating together and that feeling that YOU made that happen.

I'm not THAT judgemental.

You can afford to order food? Go head
You like to cook at home? Go head
You want to go to a nice restaurant? Go ahead

Whatever makes you happy.

the deeper conversation of health and finance can be had but I feel like we all KNOW that at this point.

Exactly. Making something from scratch is a hell of a feeling.

Treating yourself to some nice restaurant meals occasionally is a real treat, pun intended.

I always remember my parents saying this back in the 80s / early-90s. Basically paraphrased -

"One of the hardest things with parents is planning and prep time. When everyone's got different schedules with work (especially shift work) / activities / games / practices / extracurriculars. If you're rushing around as a parent ... you want to be able to schedule in cooking meals at home, or proper grocery shopping ... but the quick and easy fix that the kids prefer is the burger and fries. You feel guilty though as you wish you could have planned better around grocery shopping and meal preps ..."

Side note - one of the best things to do with families that are on the go is to just pre-prep a bunch of stuff and have it ready to go in the fridge or freezer. Label it or leave a note for family to put it in the oven at this temp for this long.

My mom used to be a big baker back in high school. She'd often do the homemade breads, scones, muffins, etc. Tell us to fix our sandwiches for school and grab some other items for snacks, etc.

In the past decade plus, she's made other stuff like protein power bars, biscotti, high fiber muffins, etc.

Her biscotti and lemon poppyseed cake are each The Truth.

It's crazy how opening a restaurant is the most difficult business ever but if successful is insanely profitable
Opening 1 cause the Jews and cacs pretty much tried to eliminate the competition or limit them by decreasing street vendors or making it hard to get a vending license.. than forcing people to pay for brick and mortar spots where they charge them and arm and leg for monthly rent, make them pay out there asses for licenses/certificates, limit where they can get certain supplies from, taxing them out their ass, etc… basically if you want to operate they must benefit bigtime off your blood, sweat, tears.. when you can just bring out grills, etc and open up shop the Jew man can’t benefit as much.. now you see why ”they” make it difficult.. oh yeah if you could just open up shop anywhere creates more entrepreneurs, less workers for big biz, more money for the community, etc.. more reason they try limit or eliminate those options.. goes back to my line they don’t want nigs to have money

I always hear canes taste bland and that it’s all about the sauce.. this is why they got mad sauce copycat recipes out there plus they say Walmart got a copycat sauce that taste exactly like it

Man I remember this guy was bragging to me how good their stuff was and I was like humm.. they just opened one up the street, I'll try that one...nope shit is trash without sauce and sauce and that freaking great! Any place I try chicken I always want to taste it without the sauce!!

Website bookmarked......

Thanks bro!

Cooking saves so much money, you know what ingredients you are using vs. restaurants, and it's always good to add new meals that you can cook...

I promise y’all with the turkey chops you don’t even need a knife

The sauce also goes well with chicken, salmon or shrimp

Well said. One of the best feelings at a restaurant is trying stuff that you'd undoubtedly never make at home.

On the flip side ... one of the worst experiences is ordering something and having it be a complete letdown. Then looking around at others' dishes at your table and wishing you ordered what they did instead, lol. Been there before.
"Why their food look better than mine?"

I haven’t touched pork since I was 12

Gained knowledge of self and as I got older converted to islam
I'm a spiritual person as well, still have issues eating things that I ate growing up. I'm looking to make changes, but I have came a long way. Still there's a lot more work that needs to be done.

I'm much more knowledgeable when I gained an understanding of what I should and shouldn't be eating, but it's about unlearning the things you were taught and moving away from the things you loved to eat back then.

So, when I discovered that gaining knowledge of self would help me, I saw changes in how I see food and to make sure that I'm not eating things that aren't good for me.

I just go with the flow, then I just try to make it perfect after cooking it a few times, that shit become easy to do and it's perfect Everytime.

I was told that make the best pancakes because no else does it better than I do. So, it's like I know how to do it perfect Everytime, add some twist to my recipe to make it different.

But yeah, it takes a lot of work from preparing the food, seasoning and then cooking it, your timing gotta be perfect as well because that would determine how good or bad the food is.
