so he can't pay respect to the team he just left? how many weeks was it between him getting released and then going back and playing? this was a special circumstance
its not like it was the following season

i agree with calling out coaching is something you don't do.
but dammit i can't say i'd do different with childress not excusing it just my feeling on how shitty he truly was.

and because of the unfair label, shit that is commonplace is magnified and he is made out to be worse than he is.

is he an angel no

lazy wr? how can you fix your mouth to say that? lazy in what way?
not intelligence, not work ethic...his workouts are legendary just youtube em and see the players from around the nfl who went to work out specifically with him because it was a tough routine.

trotting on your routes

not putting any effort into blocking

not trying to get open

thats quitting

he did all that shit

you cant dispute that
^^^^This^^^^

We all know he is great, but not running crisp routes affects other receivers. Him "lifting" the coverage, playing decoy, creates space for other people to work. Blocking on running plays... Its more to "quiting" than just being lazy on a route or two. If 1 person doesnt do their job the play doesnt work. As a coach a great WR may get the ball 10 times... Well run 70 plus plays a game. So basically I have to hope that the 10 times you get the ball makes up for the other 50 you dont do your job effectively??? Then you factor in Randy is only great at certain routes. After a 50 yard slo-go hes gotta come out for a play or two and thats more plays hes not doing his job... Ummmm no... The only reason he got away with that is because he was so great, but at this point in his career he aint that great. Its more to playing receiver than catching passes and stats...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Already addressed how hes lazy in this post...

so
you're going to act like moss' qb situation was anywhere near as good as theirs is? really?

once a mentor always a mentor
chris gave his opinion its cool. i don't hate chris i think its foul what he said
its funny though
cause the code applies sometimes
but not all the time.
like its ok for chris to speak on his playing days and experiences with moss and give his opinion
but if someone was to say a qb they played with was nervous in the huddle its breaking the code

Fam, Im talking about Jerry Porter outplaying him, with the same bullshit QB, and a fraction of the talent.

What Cris said was so obvious and common knowledge, IMHO, that I cant even consider that breaking the code.

Its like a former Pennington teammate publicly saying his flaw was his arm strength. Yeah everyone can see that.

Cris didnt exactly break new ground with this one, but I understand your point that he didnt have to make into a personal "accusation" of sorts.

The only problem I see is if he hasn't said it to him

It's Chris Carters job, everyone knows Randy has quit in games and on teams.

The truth hurts :dunno:

Someone saying the QB was nervous would be an opinion. No way to VALIDATE that unless you acutally ASKED the QB. Saying Moss quit or took off plays is FACTUAL. That's the difference.

Clearly you've forgotten who actually VOTES for the HOF. :smh:

Good point, If I were Randy I wouldn't count my hall of fame votes too early.

I bet you in TO and his case, a lot of writers won't vote for them, because of all the other shit, Randy quitting and TO in the locker room.

I wouldn't be shocked if neither were first ballot, even though they deserve it.

Hold the fuck up. CC didn't say anything EVERY football fan and GM already knew. Moss himself said on more than one occasion that he took plays off. Further, if you've watched him play his body language clearly sometimes displayed that he didn't give a fuck.

Without question he's one of the greatest receivers I've ever scene. He was an absolute game changer and in his prime was one of the few 1 or 2 "go get it" receivers in the league. Meaning that he didn't just catch the ball when it was thrown to him, but that if the QB put it in his zip code he could go get it. But even with all of that skill and talent he bounced around from team to team. In a league that accepts dope heads, DUI killers, and wife beaters if they have talent then Moss should've never had trouble finding a job...UNLESS he were a quitter.

A lot of the "voters" are idealistic and vindictive. There's a side of them that believes there are more than a few players who should have been grateful to play the game (because they wouldn't be able to do anything else substantial). I believe Randy might be that guy for them. His off the field problems combined with his reputation to "take off" plays will not sit well with them. While he deserves to be first ballot HOF I would not be shocked either.

from the responses it SEEMS like Randy would win but the actually voting shows Chris by a landslide..

I think Moss' reputation for taking plays off is so prevalent...

Carter was right and only be honest about how many in the league view his former protege...

I think some of you cats forget how much of a beast CC was so he knows when a player especially receiver takes plays off. Just because the voters aren't voting him in doesn't mean dude is not a HOF'er, shit he had some of the best hands the NFL has ever seen......

How is Moss "quit" misunderstood?

Did Bomani Jones watch Moss in Oakland where he took entire games off at a time?

It not just a matter of half-assing 2 routes a game with this guy.

I like Bomani because he's a well spoken brother, but he's running his mouth.... He doesn't know shit about the NFL, he was in school with a Masters in Economics, he is just another talking head... He's as qualified as you or I to talk about this... meaning.... he needs to Shut his mouth...

C.C. is my guy, but I'm riding with Moss on this one. Some things should be left unsaid when discussing someone you consider a friend with people that aren't your friend.

I do not know or care whether what Cris Carter is saying is true or not, but I am with Randy on this one. For a very long time, I have heard Carter say things that were very patronising about Randy, and Randy said nothing. Randy respected Carter like an older brother, but Carter behaved like an older bitch. The rule of being an older brother is that you must respect your younger brothers if you want them to respect you. Carter went too far by calling Randy a quitter and validating everything the nay-sayers, many of them racists, have said about Randy, and essentially cut the marketability of the man... I am sorry, but if I was Randy I would have gone farther and invoked the drug-stained past of Cris Carter. This is exactly why people in this country do not command respect of those younger than them. They abuse that priviledge.

Bingo!

I don't think most are saying CC is wrong about Moss. But if he considers himself a mentor and friend, you don't go on Mike and Mike and make a statement like that about this man. Especially when the discussion started because Moss is trying to get back in the league. That was bullshit. Moss is better than me though. Love goes out the window when you fuck with my bread or my kids. Carters words could have a long term, negative effect on both. He would be my brand new enemy.

Is Randy Moss the Shaq of the NFL? Both could have been the GOAT of their sport if their drive matched their talent.
