I remember the Royale Family quite well, and I think it actually made it through a full season and was supposed to comeback............

thing is...........

Redd Foxx passed away during the show's return :smh:

May have been mentioned but Naya Rivera was on that show as a child.

I loved South Central.

I also used to like that "Where I Live" with Doug E. Doug. It wasn't great but back then it was just good to see black folks on TV so we pretty much watched all of it...even the bad ones.

Homeroom on ABC with Penny Johnson old sexy ass.

Damn, Im getting old---I remember ALL these shows!

Somebody asked for a drama...Im going ALL the way back..and it was on PBS too!

"Up and Coming"

Great show ...a young teenage Cindy Heron from EnVogue played on it....her character name was Valerie

Great show about intelligent, successful black family, of course it was short lived. :(

No clips on YT unfortunately, but here's some info...

Dope trip down memory lane. Never missed an episode of Hanging With Mr. Cooper.

Here's a more recent one. Damn, I would go up in Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Pull-out denied.

Man, Royal Family was so short-lived (R.I.P. Redd Foxx) that I totally forgot that a very young Larenz Tate was in the cast. ... And the great Joe Morton ("Brother From Another Planet" and "City of Hope") played the son-in-law in the Grady show. Haywood Nelson ("Hey, hey, hey!" Dwayne of What's Happening) also was in that cast. I guess everybody had to start somewhere.

Another forgotten show is the show Redd Foxx left Sanford & Son to do..

A very shrewd move on the part of ABC.

Might have been a bit ahead of its time in some ways and little behind in others. Canceled at mid season. I always thought it was funny. Best part was IRON Jaw Wilson.

I loved this show but the NAACP protested against it for removal,,,,Later ABC gave them some creative control, but by that time the ratings dropped."Just Our Luck"

Steve Harvey Show was one of my favorites, not too much of a fan of Steve these days but Steve was hilarious as a ornery high school teacher..
Show had a solid 6 year run from 1996 to 2002 and had a finale, something many black shows don't get.

The singer Siedah Garrett had a sit-com show. I think I only saw one episode but I remember she was fine as a mfkr.

**edit** it was a pilot called Wally and the Valentines. Tatyana Ali, Tevin Campbell and Cindy Heron were also in it.
