Most artists in music genres are putting on an act, it just seems more prevalent in Hip Hop.

Popular, unsigned or local rap artists are like WWE wrestlers (working a gimmick) or film actors playing a role and their artform of choice isn't film, stage or TV, it's music.

Yeah pop artists are all gimmicks, when Jive launched Britney spears in the late 90s into becoming the biggest female popstar in the world it was using the lolita gimmick. Labels tried to find their own blonde girls and copy it with slight variations to each gimmick, Mandy Moore was the tamer tall seventeen magazine editorial model more girl next door type. They tried to go edgier with Willa Ford since she was older than the other girls but it was a failed gimmick cause by the time she released Britney and Christina Aguilera went edgier themselves

It's a wild phenomenon. It's most of the reason I stopped taking recording sessions too. Sitting up listening to niggas lie into my Manley silver was not why I got into music and it started fucking with me to the point where I was only enjoying the major sessions and the daily bread and butter shits was making me have a fuckin attitude the entire block.

After a time I felt like I was contributing to a larger problem as well. Had to stop that shit for my own mental health.
Exactly what I went through.

I took a major hit financially, but my soul is in better shape now

It's a crazy paradox I saw in my studio often..

Kids create this narrative 1st and walk into the persona of beef, jail, and/or death
You have a home studio Hunt?

there's a commentary in there that i'm not ready to articulate, man. but suffice it to say if it makes me feel that way, something is wrong.

now the real sessions, with real artists? pure joy.

this is beautiful my boy. i know you grit your teeth handing that card over for that double-pane lol
Thanks man. Ran me about $400. Everybody was doing renovation projects during Covid so 2nd hand stuff was relatively cheap.

If you got people that need a WorkCation and/or visibility in the euro market, hit me up. We arrange shows, events, and handle travel logistics door to door.

Yup. Same hand gestures and gunshot sounds. They all turn their mouths up and point fake guns the same way. It’s a clown show at this point.

I’m not shaming my child on tv. Secondly, I say this every few years on here: niggas love Italian and other names of other races who could give no fuck about us. Clown shit. If your child wants to be trash there isn’t much you can do about it after a certain point.

It's entertainment, I blame the people who sees it for anything else.
Yeah, but that same entertainment wanting to be fake tough have gotten rappers killed. Some were about that life and some weren't.

He should switch up his pack from MJ to Coka. Then he would really get rich with his dad and uncle Troy as his best customers.

His Oscar the Grouch flow is pretty cool tho. His bibbity baaaps are on point.

Yo, that’s what’s going on today. These little young niggas is romanticizing the 80’s -90’s and out here trying to live that shit. These young niggas got it good. We didn’t have the opportunities they have today. That’s where the whole OPPS culture comes from. Bamas making up beef. Shit, niggas was fighting for corners and hoods back in the day so they could eat…pump drugz. Bamas today don’t know nothing about that type shit until they watch Paid in Full and start wanting to act out. Bamas from my era wish they had those opportunities they have today to make bread. The clean way.
Big Facts!

My niece's baby daddy made a rap song, and my sis-in-law (her mom) sent it to us in a group text, and everyone was saying how talented he is and how nice the song was. And then, someone (Me? Maybe) fucked it all up.
Me: "That shit sounds like the soundtrack to a dumpster fire."
That shit was horrible, and my family got mad at me for trying to crush his dream, and I told them that this is why people make fools of themselves when they audition for shows like "American Idol". Their families are lying to them, and then they go on national T.V and get bitch slapped by the truth. Stop telling these people they're good when they're not.
They said you're hating huh

its harder for young impressionable minds to tell the difference. its easy to blame a 13/14 year old when you're 35+, 40 years old

.bgol can't have it both ways. Is it the single mother's fault or the parents? According to Bgol any kid that makes bad decisions or chooses the wrong path is the parents' fault, fingers pointing mainly at single mothers.

But the complaint is that dude and other rappers aren't about the life they rap about. It seems that y'all prefer anyone who is rapping about criminal shit should be a criminal.

Nah, I just hate these fake gangsters that these rappers want portray when they never been in the trenches putting in no work but been living in a gated community their whole lives. That's why I salute uncle Irvin for calling his son out.
