I first saw Maze at the Saenger Theater in the 80s. I've been hooked ever since.

Seem like New Orleans had a connection with them folks.
If I didn’t know any difference, I would’ve thought he was from Nola, they way our folks acted towards him…

Back in the day, Mannie Fresh's father, DJ Sabu, used to setup his gear at various parks in New Orleans (Hunter's Field Playground, Hardin Park, and many others) for the neighborhood gatherings. Many times, Maze was being played and the crowds enjoyed listening and dancing to Maze tunes, as well as other music.

Those were good times.

10th grade was the first time i listened to that Live in LA concert.. I was on a Band Buss trip

it was like i had an awakening in my soul....


the first time i saw him in concert was literally like a religious experience


Frankie Beverly and Maze is the Black People's Greatful Dead


It's a shame he was never recognized for his work...not one single Grammy
