Yeah I don’t get the boring shit … yeah it did follow bits from the past movie… but the villain here was in the first two movies and They never caught them in the first movie… they just pushed them back…

to me this entire movie was a love letter to Harold Ramis…. That’s why it was called after life… the man was really hoping to be in another movie… but Bill Murray fucked it up… and in this movie he fucked it up.. his scenes were phoned In…

but as a guy that grew up in love with this franchise… who even went with a Zuul t-shirt.. this movie was exactly what I needed. I’m going to see it a couple more times.. that last 15 minutes almost got me… especially growing up as a child of divorce… that last bit man…

i fucking loved it… it was exactly what I wanted. Did it have a ton of memberberry moments Yeap and did it have moments where you have to ask… how did they know how To do this since it’s their first time …..

and was the ending rushed… hell yeah…

but I loved every minute…

stay through until the end… cause it sets up a sequel and Winston finally and I mean finally… gets his fucking moment.
You like everything from the 80s.

i don’t like everything from the 80s……

i loved this movie….. but again I’m easily the biggest ghostbusters fan in here… I’ve got a replica proton pack at the crib and signed script for ghostbusters 1 framed in my house. I’m diehard. I wasn’t bored for one second. It was actually better then I thought it was. Light years better then the 2016 piece of crap and better then ghostbusters 2. Plus it sets up Winston being the one to keep the brand going if they commit to more movies.

Loved it! It was a reintroduction to the franchise and doing something new with the legacy. Pumped to see what they do next.

EXTENSIVE spoiler alert!!!

Ghostbusters was a light horror/comedy/sci fi/action mashup. Afterlife is a family drama trying to be Stranger Things than the movie it is supposed to be. New York was presented as a magical place with quirky people that you'd love to visit. The dust bowl setting in this movie was drab and wearying. Nothing about that town was interesting, nothing about the characters was interesting. I did not want to be there.

And where were all the ghosts? There are like 2 ghosts in this thing, not including Gozer and her pitt bulls. They barely busted any! And why tf was JJ Simmons even in it? He was wasted in this!

There was too much downtime between the action scenes, and they were short. It was 45 minutes before them kids found the first ghost! This movie wasnt any fun until the original cats showed up. And yes, they did do right by Winston, but my wife was bored by it, my kids went to sleep on it and i felt trapped.

At least that girls version was truer to the heart of a ghostbusters joint. That was a 2 hour movie that was good for 20 minutes.

I also liked how kid each represented an OG member. Well this is what I saw. Not sure if it was intended to be that way.
Grandaughter was Egon obviously. The asian kid was Ray. That was obvious from jump. The older brother was Venkman by being the loverboy. And the black kid was a normal person helping out like Winston.

I liked it.

Except for ONE reason - and that completely derailed the film for me - and it was, I guess, the "plot-device(?)" for why the original crew split up.

That made absolutely no sense what so ever.

Well okay. I guess I'll have to at least try it. Shit went straight to VHS so it won't be difficult.

Ivan Reitman, Director of Ghostbusters and Stripes, Has Died
By Bethy Squires

Ivan Reitman — director of the first two Ghostbusters and producer of Animal House and OG Space Jam — has died. He was 75. News broke via the Associated Press, who were notified of Reitman’s passing by his family. Reitman first started working in Canada, producing films by body horror auteur David Cronenberg. From there, Reitman found a place in the world of Saturday Night Live-helmed comedies. Reitman produced Animal House starring John Belushi and directed Meatballs starring Bill Murray.

Reitman became one of the biggest comedy directors of the 80’s and 90’s with the Ghostbusters franchise, and several Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicles. He is survived by his wife Caroline Reitman, and two children: director Jason Reitman and comedic writer-performer Catherine Reitman. “Our family is grieving the unexpected loss of a husband, father, and grandfather who taught us to always seek the magic in life,” they said in a joint statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. “We take comfort that his work as a filmmaker brought laughter and happiness to countless others around the world. While we mourn privately, we hope those who knew him through his films will remember him always.”

I enjoyed this movie. It had its low points, but I think that was necessary in order to tell the story properly.

Unlike Michael Bay movies, most movies have slow points we're nothing truly exciting happens and some people believe those Parts could be subtracted but in my opinion they add something powerful to the story

You know I was on this...

They are making a new animated movie and netflix is dropping a new animated Series

It's all the shit that I've ever dreamed of....

‘Ghostbusters’ Animated Movie Featuring New Characters Announced by Sony
BYERICK MASSOTO
PUBLISHED 2 DAYS AGO

This is the start of the... Ghostbusters-verse?

One of cinema’s most famous questions, “who you gonna call?” has just gotten a broader answer. Back in the mid-80s, you could only count on a small group of Ghostbusters to take care of your paranormal problems. But after the 2016 remake and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, we’re getting a new set of characters that aren’t afraid of no ghosts to join the party: a new Ghostbusters animated feature film was announced today in celebration of Ghostbusters day, commemorating the date that the first film was released in 1984.

A new movie had already been teased by Sony chairman Tom Rothman back in May. In an interview, the studio boss confirmed not only that Ghostbusters 5 was in active development, but suggested that the franchise universe would soon be expanding. Well, now we know at least a portion of the extent of that expansion.

In addition to the new animated series announced this morning for Netflix, the franchise shared plans for an animated feature with all new characters and a new perspective. Jennifer Kluska and Chris Prynoski are attached to helm the new movie written by Brenda Hsueh for Sony Animation.

Details of the new Ghostbusters movie are still being kept under wraps, but it’s safe to say that the story will follow a group of people who chase after and imprison supernatural threats. As we know, however, an expanded universe opens a lot of possibilities for the franchise, including a team-up in future installments. Maybe even the return of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones? While the new film is set to feature new characters, we'd love to see these Ghostbusters again. Come on, you know they deserve another shot.

Ghostbusters first premiered in 1984 and it starred Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver. The action-comedy quickly became a box office hit, grossing almost $300 million against a $30 million budget. It spawned a sequel and a reboot, as well as a late threequel that premiered in 2021 and also performed well in theaters.

Sony is yet to reveal further details for the new Ghostbusters movie, including cast, director, and release window. Check out the announcement tweet from the official Ghostbusters Twitter account down below.
