Artists of any medium typically prioritize the art over everything.
I mentioned this on our Top 5 podcast when the topic of gatekeeping came up. When all those youtube reacts videos dropped after the Kendrick-Drake beef, there were only a handful of black content creators who could grasp the metaphors, double entendres, and punchlines. Most of them were like "oh shit, he said hate". There was a white dude from England who was doing a way better job of dissecting the bars and pointing out the clever wordplay. Outside forces are always going to be at work, but we need to protect our art better, because the opinions of most of these people like Vlad and Akademiks only hurts the art and works to dumb it down.

There are folks in our community that still read the Bible as if it’s a collection of events and not a collection of literary devices. So when you say the black folks did this and the white folks did that, I’m the type to say that was their intention. Most of our folks are graduating high school reading at pre-middle school. I’m sure the there is a black English literature major that broke down the video, it’s just the algorithm wasn’t interested in letting you see that.

One of the major problems (aside from comprehension) is they're just trying to get reviews up as soon as possible. I'm a fossil at this point but I remember listening to an album and reading the liner notes while listening. Don't let it come with the lyrics or any plans I had that day was OVER.
