Damn shame.

Not happy about the outcome.

Elon is gonna gash the budget, hurting the people and helping the elite.

Republicans control the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary.

Democrats especially the loudest of the bunch on here will blame EVERYTHING but themselves for their poor showing.

My opinion is the Gov of Maryland should be the President or VP candidate next time. I'd say President but they probably need a white boy to have a real chance of winning. The country has shown we are moving backwards in race progression.

Inflation May Have Cost Kamala Harris The White House

Even though inflation has slowed, prices have remained high, and people hate high prices.

Higher consumer prices may be the single biggest contributing factor to the resounding defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris by former president Donald Trump in Tuesday’s presidential election.

Voters have consistently rated the economy as the most important issue in the election, and two-thirds of voters surveyed after casting their ballots said they considered the economy “not so good” or “poor.” And of the 31% of voters who told exit pollsters the economy was their top concern, 79% voted for Trump.

By most measures, the economy is doing well ― unemployment is historically low, at 4.1%, the stock market is booming, the country’s gross domestic product remains the envy of the world, and inflation has actually fallen to similar levels in Trump’s first term.

The trouble is, inflation falling doesn’t mean prices are falling ― it just means they’re not going up as fast. And people hate high prices.

Consumers have absolutely noticed that inflation has slowed down, but they remain very, very frustrated by the persistence of high prices,” Joanne Hsu, director of consumer surveys at the University of Michigan, told HuffPost.

The University of Michigan’s index of consumer sentiment in October was 10 points higher than it was two years prior but still 11 points lower than it was even in October 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic had upended daily life across the country. And the most recent measure of sentiment is a whopping 25 points lower than in October 2019.

To be sure, other factors likely contributed to Trump’s victory, especially his vow to stamp out illegal immigration. But Harris’ loss fits a global pattern in which incumbents have been thrown out by electorates, who are still seething over the pandemic and the economic pain it caused.

The U.S. has had a better economic performance than many peer nations. The consumer price index, the government’s main gauge of inflation in the U.S., fell to 2.4% in September, the lowest level since early 2021, after peaking at 9.1% in 2022. And consumers have noticed the slowing of price increases ― it’s just that they’re not impressed.

The high inflation of Joe Biden’s presidency resulted primarily from supply chain constraints caused by disruptions related to the pandemic, though economists say big spending by Congress in concert with both the Trump and Biden administrations played a role. Trump, of course, made sure to blame it all on Democrats.

The government’s main efforts to fight inflation are delegated to the Federal Reserve, a central bank that operates independently of the White House, though its leaders are presidential nominees. The Fed uses higher interest rates to increase borrowing costs and push down economic activity ― essentially causing more economic pain to reduce inflation by making people buy less stuff.

Biden and Harris sought to blame inflation partly on big corporations padding their profits by soaking consumers, and Harris said in August that she would champion new efforts to combat “price gouging.” Still, it wasn’t enough to impress voters. Hsu’s research found that voters were more aware of the news about inflation in 2022 than they were even in the 1970s when fast price increases persisted for years.

The article you cited says good economy. We agree there right, Dumbass? Don't move the goalpost. Per you self selected article Biden will hand Trump a good economy. No excuses when Trump fucx it up right? So basically I live to gloat another day. Because you can set a watch by Trump going bankrupt.

I have my opinion, but why do you think they went that way?

I think they align their thoughts with white people And most of them do think they are white. I've personally experienced this.

I honestly think Obama was a show of "see, we ain't racist". I do not believe there will ever be another elected black president nor a woman president. I believe this is what MAGA really means. "Ok "N" words we gotta remind yall who this country belongs to". And "How can we be racist when we elected a black president".

That's much the same as my thinking. Additionally, the latinos I've talked to are under the mistaken impression that trump enacted policies that propelled the economy early in his first presidency, which he didn't. All he did was cut taxes for the highest income brackets. Then came the pandemic which his admin botched and tanked the economy much worse than it would have had he acted a little more responsibly. Another point, latinos shade black people believing it's a key to assimilating into the dominant culture. They aren't wrong. The irish, italians, and greeks all did it. I also told my wife that Obama was a wakeup call to a lot of white people. They suddenly realized if this black president decided to really empower and elevate black people their privilege could take a serious hit that would be difficult to undo. They don't want another one to have that chance.

Alot of people are just lazy and non-thinkers. They get information from their friends, internet, etc and don't even try to vet the info, they just regurgitate it. Latinos been that way forever, they even play that black vs white game in their countries. This election should be a wake up call for us, it's us against the world. Unfortunately we have enough self hating morons, grifters and false profits that make progression an uphill battle.

You're right about alot of people being lazy non-thinkers. That said trump said it his self. He likes the uneducated and has a carnival barker/snake oil salesman's touch with them, spitting that "trust me, you'll love it." approach. Economics isn't the easiest subject to comprehend and discuss, so its no surprise that people fall for his "I know how to do it, I've done it, and I'll do it for you too" lies. What gets me is how many have been caught up. Fact is, unless you're intuitive and well read most of the deeper economic concepts are going to go over one's head. There is little hope that average people will understand the timing of policy actions and the ultimate consequences. It takes time, often several quarters or years for some economic policy actions to play out. By then most of the actors have moved on and the ones remaining are all pointing at someone else. I'm inclined to say they'll have to learn the hard way, but they won't. They'll just go on struggling and searching for someone else to blame.

I doubt anything that occurs in 2025-2028 will be worse than what occurred during the Biden/Harris administration. It represented the epitome of poor leadership and lack of accountability.

Not only did Harris lose but she easily ran the worst campaign for a major political party in decades.

Finished in debt and didn’t even make it competitive. Still soliciting donations after the loss under the guise of “funding a recount”.

Raised $1 B and spent it all on celebrity endorsements while ending the current version of the Democratic Party.

He didn't destroyed the GOP, the GOP was close to being destroyed before Trump even decided to run, GOP dudes were whining heavy under Bush that they're weak and not tough enough on liberals, Trump just took advantage of anger that was there before.

It appears that I was wrong in the assessment that it was Trump that turned BGOL pro-white as there has been an uptick in pro-white activity to an unprecedented level under Joe Biden.

The fact that supposed black people cheered a white felon being pardoned was a level of behavior that is of a broken group of people that cannot fixed:

Donald Trump's Approval Rating Higher With Black People Than White People

Published Jan 24, 2025 at 12:10 PM ESTUpdated Jan 26, 2025 at 10:28 AM EST

More Black voters approve of Donald Trump's job performance as president than white voters, according to a new poll from America's most accurate pollster.

Why It Matters

While Black voters still very much align in favor of the Democrats, the 2024 election saw a sizeable shift toward the Republicansamong Black Americans, with the Democrats winning about 80 percent of the Black vote, down from 90 percent in 2020, according to the Associated Press.

In total, Trump won 20 percent of the Black vote, compared to 13 percent in 2020 and 8 percent in 2016, the highest level of support by Black voters for any Republican since George W. Bush in 2000.
Trump also saw significant support from Black voters in the swing states. One exit poll from Wisconsin published by NBC showed Trump improved his vote share among Black voters by 13 percent since 2020, and in North Carolina, he saw a 5-point increase.

What To Know

According to a new poll conducted by AtlasIntel between January 21 and 23, 69 percent of Black voters approve of Trump's job performance, compared to 50 percent of white voters. Meanwhile, 31 percent of Black voters disapprove of Trump's job performance, compared to 49 percent of White voters.

Overall, those polled were split over whether they approve or disapprove of Trump's job performance, with 50 percent saying they approve and 50 percent saying they disapprove. The poll surveyed 1,882 people, of which 9 percent were Black, and had a margin of error of +/- 2 percent.
AtlasIntel was the most accurate pollster in the 2024 president election, correctly predicting Trump to achieve victory in the national popular vote.

Trump's growing support among Black voters could be explained by their views about immigration. According to the AtlasIntel poll, 72 percent of Black voters see immigration as a key challenge for the U.S., ranking it higher than any other issue. White voters were also more likely to see immigration immigration as a key challenge, with 52 percent choosing it as their main issue.

Immigration was the cornerstone of Trump's campaign. He vowed to hold the largest mass deportation in history and has said he will use the National Guard to round up migrants, and invoke the Alien Enemies Act, a 1798 law that allows the president to deport any noncitizen from a country the U.S. is at war with.
On Monday, after he took the oath of office, Trump began rolling out his agenda, signing more than 100 executive orders. Among those were orders that declared a national emergency at the border, ended birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants born in the U.S., cracked down on "sanctuary cities" and states that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration agents, and ordered the Defense Department to provide troops and resources "to support the activities of the Secretary of Homeland Security in obtaining complete operational control" of the border. He also instructed the military to help build border barriers to repel migrants.

The AtlasIntel poll shows that Trump is enjoying broad support for his action on immigration, with 54 percent of respondents saying that they are strongly or mostly in favor of Trump's proposal for mass deportations. However, only 47 percent said they support Trump's executive order to ban birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants, while 49 percent said they oppose it.

On Tuesday, the Trump administration ordered the removal of officials overseeing DEI initiatives across federal agencies. A memo from the Office of Personnel Management instructed agency heads to place all DEI staff on paid administrative leave by 5 p.m. Wednesday and to plan staff reductions by January 31.
The memo also mandated the removal of any DEI materials and the withdrawal of pending documents that conflicted with the new orders. Additionally, agencies were told to ensure no ongoing DEI efforts remained "in disguise."

The move follows Trump's Day 1 executive order to dismantle federal diversity programs and urges the private sector to align with federal policies, emphasizing compliance with civil rights

He has opened my eyes to the status of my citizenship based on my extensive research. I was going to be setting up shop in another country in either event, but I found it good reading. Many of you are making the assumptions that you are citizens when you are not. They were going to take the Chinese immigrants deny the parents naturalization unlike European, and their children with no fucks given. Right around the same time the 14th amendment was ratified. It is best to read the thread...

It is like a Blockchain, where you rely on the actions taken centuries ago to transfer citizenship. if there is some type of mishap or mistake, then you have to go to Plan B, which is the 14th amendment which is garbage. The best thing to do is to go through the process of naturalization to double protect yourself, the same process that European immigrants go through. This ensure going forward that you are not relying on caselaw on the 14th amendment which isn't worth the paper is printed on.

I am not relying on some two bit white supremacist Supreme Court caselaw on the 14th amendment to determine my citizenship status. I might have to naturalize and avoid entirely relying on the 14th amendment to determine my citizenship. We should not be accepting caselaw as the determination of our citizenship status. It should be spelled out either in the Constitution or as an act of Congress.

We need to go through the same door as European immigrants, some Dred Scott court decision comes down you are protected and so is your children.
