I was a cowboy fan for 26 years. I've been through the Tony Dorsette, Danny White, Drew Pearson, Randy White, Tony Hill days. I've been through the 3 super bowl victories in the 90's. I left the team after the Quincy Carter drama. I saw how the team look past their star player drug problems, but threw Quincy under the bus with their illegal drug testing procedure. Plus I see how the league and some of the fans are racist against black qb's. The Quincy Carter situation gave me awareness to what I call the "McNabb / Elway" comparison. Now I support any team with a black coach or black qb. So I have several teams in the NFL. I'm not racist, I'm just supporting the underdogs.

Good post. I'm an Eagles fan myself. Just have this bum ass avatar to mock someone I was arguing with.

Born n raised in the D.M.V. Skins fan for life! We'll get to the promise land again one day (when Snyder humbles himself). Probably by that time we'll be beaming information in our heads:lol:

I've always been a Yankee's fan. I used to root for the Mets; when they weren't playing one another, but after they treated Willie Randolf so foul I refuse to watch them. As for your main team you can only hope the Browns pull a Baltimore Colts, and sneak out of town in the middle of the night. Atleast then you can be a man without a team. There is no other way; I became a Knick fan because of Bernard King; tried to get out of my fanhood with them since he left, and found one player does not make a team. I am forever branded to a cursed franchise and theres no wayout.

You have three teams
fuck you gonna have three teams?:hmm:

get this bullshit outta here.
:lol:This isn't the first time I have explained this in sports treads....

First off I wasn't lucky enough to have grown up in a city that had a pro team off top like some of y'all. I'm from Decatur, Alabama (and a Crimson Tide fan). Since Alabama didn't have a pro team I was influenced by relatives at a early age that were big Saints fans and that's how I got with them. Same thing when I first got to TN. We did not have a team then.

I became a Jets fan during the time Pete Carroll was Head Coach. There was something about them I liked and it stayed with me even until now.

I am a Titans fan because they are my home team now. I didn't like the Houston Oilers, but when they became the Titans I took them in.

I wasn't going to cold drop my first 2 teams just because of the Titans. I've been with them for way longer. So I kept them. It's not that hard to comprehend:rolleyes: It's not like I picked 3 perennial winners as my favorite teams....

They are all in different divisions and the Saints are in a whole different conference. They don't play each other every year so it's not like they see each other all the time. I got to Titans games, been to a couple of Jets games, still haven't been to a Saints game in person. Trying to get to the Saints vs. Cowboys game in December.

I don't watch baseball and don't really have a favorite basketball team.

I keep all my teams except in basketball, I root for units rather than teams. To me the NBA is unwatchable if your team sucks. I rooted for the Lakers, then the Bulls, and now the Cavs.

I almost gave up on the Dallas Cowboys back in the late 70's. I was getting ribbed hard by my classmates for supporting Dallas, which had been losing a lot. So, while watching their game against the Minnesota Vikings I got really pissed. They were losing and getting thoroughly outplayed. I was so mad that I actually said, "Fuck it! I'm done with this team!" Near tears, I was about to turn off the tv, when Tony Dorsett broke off a "99 1/2" yard TD run. I took it as an omen never to give up on that team, and I've been a diehard Cowboy's fan ever since. My patience payed off big time in the 80's-90's.:yes::lol:
