Makers of Hawk Tuah video speak out and demand credit after 'missing out' on viral fame
Tim & Dee TV, heard of them? Probably not, but they are the people who recorded an intoxicated Haliey Welch and changed her life forever

So, you know who the 'Hawk Tuah Girl' is, but do you know the duo behind the video?
As much as they want you to, you probably don't - but they have now spoken out demanding credit after 'missing out' on the fame.

The infamous video, which I'm not sure I really have to go into anymore - we've covered Haliey Welch's cameo on the
viral video so many times, heck the whole world has.
But for those fresh from a social media detox - we all do it, delete
Facebook,
Twitter,
TikTok and
Instagram for a couple hours before downloading them the next time we use the loo.
Welch went
viral on
TikTok for responding to Tim & Dee TV's question, 'What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?'
Her reply: "You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thing, you get me?"
Well, 25-year-old Tim Dickerson and 24-year-old DeArius Marlow, AKA
Tim & Dee, aren't happy that they aren't seeing any credit for it.
Hell, Welch has managed to trademark the phrase 'Hawk Tuah' for comedy and apparel purposes - apparently with the help of the big man himself, Shaq.

Speaking to The New York Times, Marlow said: "At the end of the day, nobody would know who she was if we didn’t bring it to light and post it.
"A lot of the audience who hadn’t seen us before think we grew off this one clip. People were treating it like we’re nobodies and didn’t already have a platform.”
The pair take to the streets to interview intoxicated punters, and in Welch's case, they visited Nashville's Broadway to do so.
While there they ask people anything from
X-rated questions to general silly off-the-cuff statements.
During the same interview, Dickerson explained: "It’s mostly just jokes.
Welch has since appeared on podcasts and has even turned down Playboy. (YouTube/ Plan Bri Uncut)
"We’re not pressuring nobody or nothing — we’re just capturing the vibe. That’s what we do best."
The duo roomed together in college in Nashville and have been uploading content on
YouTube since 2021.
While their work is not full-time, with Dickerson a day trader and football coach and Marlow a videographer, they have worked told The New York Times that they have estimated that they have filed at least 50 copyright claims.
Those on the receiving end of the lawsuit have apparently removed Tim & Dee TV's watermark and re-uploaded it themselves.
Dickerson and Marlow - I feel for them, people ripping off your work sucks.

Hawk Tuah woman has already sold at least $65,000 worth of merch after viral fame
Hailey Welch had no idea how many people would end up hearing her now-iconic phrase
Emily Brown
'Hawk Tuah'. If you know, you know - and by this point, most of us probably know.
But on the off chance you haven't come across the phrase 'hawk tuah' recently, it's not some newly discovered species of
hawk I'm talking about.
The phrase comes from a woman named Hailey Welch, now fondly known as the 'hawk tuah girl', who went viral on
TikTok after being asked in a video: “What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?”
Hailey's response took the internet by storm. (YouTube/Tim&DeeTV)
The question came as part of a video filmed by creators Tim & Dee TV, and saw Welch grinning as she stood with friends and prepared to share her thoughts.
Mimicking the action of someone mustering up some spit, she replied: "You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thing, you get me?"
The response caused Welch's friend to burst out laughing, and she wasn't the only one.
The video has been viewed millions of times after first being posted on 11 June, and it quickly became apparent that Welch was the world's latest meme.
See the clip for yourself below:
One
X user saw the viral moment coming, writing: "Brace yourselves everyone . Within the next week the Hawk Tuah meme will finally make its way to
Facebook and we’ll have to explain to our parents and grandparents what it means. Just be ready."
Sure enough, just a couple of weeks on from the video being posted and Welch is now raking in money by selling merch based on her
viral meme.
Welch has gone into business with Fathead Threads, a family-owned business run by Jason Poteete and based in Marshall County, Tennessee.
Poteete has known Welch for years, and reached out to her after she went viral to help turn the video into a
money-making opportunity.
Speaking to the Rolling Stone, Poteete
said: “Of course she hasn’t gotten a dime from the first viral video that went out.
"Nobody was asking permission for her to do nothing, neither. I just wanted her to get some profit off of this deal.”

Poteete revealed that Welch has got herself an agent and has been in touch with a lawyer to trademark the phrase 'hawk tuah', though she asked Poteete not to feature her face on any of the merch they'd be selling.
Instead, Fathead Threads is exclusively selling hats which read 'Hawk Tuah ’24', which are available for $32.78 each, with signed versions available for $50.
Poteete estimated that the shop has so far sold just over 2,000 hats, earning an estimated $65,000.
“Our largest orders are usually 100 hats, maybe 150-250 shirts. This is way out of the normal for us,” he said. “This is a small family-owned shop. We’re all-hands-on-deck right now.”
As for his thoughts on Welch's video, Poteete said: “I just think the world needed a laugh, and she provided that.”

Truth emerges after claims Hawk Tuah woman was sacked from her job after video went viral
Haliey Welch didn't hold back in the video after being asked what makes men 'crazy' in bed
Emily Brown
The truth has come to light about whether or not the so-called 'Hawk Tuah Girl' lost her job after going viral with an incredible video.
"What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?”
Everyone might have their own risqué answer to this question, but for Nashville resident
Haliey Welch, the answer came along with the impression of someone preparing to spit.
Haliey Welch's answer involves a 'hawk tuah'. (YouTube/Tim & Dee)
In a now-
viral video shared by creators Tim & Dee TV, Welch grinned as she responded: "You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thing, you get me?"
With this sentence, Welch officially established herself as the 'Hawk Tuah Girl' as the video was picked up and shared across the globe, turning her into the world's latest meme.
As more and more people watched the video, viewers soon began to wonder about who Welch really was, and how the video may have impacted her life.
Before long, one post emerged online claiming Welch had been fired from her job over the NSFW answer she gave to Tim & Dee.
The claim was made in an article by the Tippah County Tribune, and alleged Welch worked as a pre-school teacher who had been sacked after the school discovered her video.
The article even featured an apparent 'statement' from the school, which read: "We have kids spitting on each other and everything else since they heard their beloved Miss Hailey say 'spit on that thang' on
YouTube.
"They really look up to her as a role model and imitate the things that she does. "We love Hailey but unfortunately we cannot allow this type of behavior from one of our very own faculty members."
Obviously Welch hadn't meant any harm with her reaction, so many people became concerned after hearing that she might have lost her job.

"Hawk tuah girl went into hiding, lost her teaching job," one post reads on
X.
However, a closer inspection of Tippah County Tribune reveals it to be 'Tippah County’s #1 Publication For Satirical Laughs'.
The article it wrote about Welch was satirical, and I can assure anyone concerned that the rumor of Welch losing her job is, in fact, fake news.
It's unclear what Welch actually does for a job - one man who knows her, Jason Poteete,
told the Rolling Stone she was 'overwhelmed' by the attention and ask that he not share any of her personal details.
However, Welch has capitalized on her viral fame by selling merchandise based on the video, and has teamed up with Poteete to sell
at least $65,000 worth of merch so far.

'Hawk Tuah' woman reveals the most bizarre fan request she's received since viral fame
'Hawk Tuah' woman Haliey Welch has revealed a 'revolting' request she received after going viral
Poppy Bilderbeck
'Hawk Tuah' woman Haliey Welch has opened up about a 'revolting' request she received after becoming internet famous.
After her answer to a question about what bedroom antic sends men 'crazy every time' went viral,
Welch has found herself not only in the spotlight, but on the receiving end of some rather
bizarre requests.

The 21-year-old was asked the question by Tim & Dee TV while at CMA Fest in Nashville.
And while she may've thought she'd never see the interview ever again, after it was uploaded to
TikTok on June 11 it didn't take long for the clip to go viral and for Welch's face to end up plastered all over
social media.
If you're wondering why, well, take a look at her answer to the question: "You gotta give ’em that
‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thing, you get me?"
She's reportedly gone on to sell
thousands of dollars worth of merch and has even
joined country music star Zach Bryan on stage during a gig.
And despite Welch having deleted her social media six months ago, it's not taken long for certain individuals to find a way to track her down and get their strange requests sent over to her - even via her hat maker.
In an interview with Brianna LaPaglia on
Plan Bri Uncut, Welch explained the 'guy who does [her] hats' received an offer of
$600 if he could get her to 'spit in a jar and sell it'.
Welch continued: "That is revolting. That is just disgusting, is it not?"
And it's not taken long for people to weigh in on the request. One TikToker said: "I’d be spitting in so many jars."
Another added: "I would. Be so rich. Every hawk tuah in a jar is 600$!"
A third commented: "Revolting? Do it! In this economy money is money."
While a fourth suggested: "So he could’ve spit on the jar easily without even asked her like how would they know it wasn’t her saliva."
And a final wrote: "So are you $600 richer or not ?"

Welch added she did briefly question whether or not she should do it - it is $600 after all - but ultimately she decided she wouldn't.
Welch also said that despite being known as the 'Hawk Tuah girl' she doesn't 'really want' that to be her 'image'.
Welch resolved: "I don't see that being my thang. I don't want to be known as that."

'Hawk Tuah' woman responds to rumors that she was fired from her job as she speaks out for first time
'Hawk Tuah' woman Hailey Welch set the record straight about all the claims that have emerged online
Emily Brown
The Nashville resident known to people across the world as 'Hawk Tuah Girl' has spoken out after she was rumored to have lost her job.
Some people try for years to get famous, dedicating their lives to attempting to impress agents or making it big on
YouTube.
Who knew that all you actually have to do is pretend to do a huge spit?
Hailey Welch's face is now familiar to people across the globe thanks to her response to the question of what 'makes a man go crazy [in bed] every time', but it wasn't long after the video was posted by creators Tim & Dee TV that rumors began to emerge.
Last month, one post online
claimed Welch had been fired from her job as a school teacher over her response to the NSFW question.
The claim came from an outlet that openly describes itself as 'Tippah County’s #1 Publication For Satirical Laughs', so it wasn't exactly the most reliable source, but the rumor began to spread nonetheless.

Though Welch initially stayed quiet after the video went
viral, she has
since spoken out and cleared up any rumors about her employment status.
In an interview with PlanBri for Barstool Sports, Welch explained the rumor was entirely false, beginning with the fact that she's not a school teacher.
At the time the video was released, Welch, who is 21, said she was actually working in a spring factory.
"I'm not a school teacher, or a bartender," she assured. "I'm not even old enough to be a teacher."
The rumors didn't stop there, as the host also had to ask Welch whether her dad was really a
preacher.
She responded: "My father is so far from a preacher it's crazy."
Welch was clear that almost everything online about her had been 'made up', saying: "None of it's true, at all."
With all of the lies that have been spreading about Welch since she went viral, it's no surprise that she's hoping to distance herself from her Hawk Tuah fame going forwards.
She explained: "I don't really want that to be my image. Like, Hawk Tuah Girl? I don't see that being my thing. I don't want to be known as that."
The 21-year-old added that she was just being a 'bit of a smarta**' when she responded in the Tim & Dee TV video.
"You're gonna come up to me with a microphone and ask me something like that," she said, adding: "I don't mean nothing by it."
