Apart from Blood Diamond and Amistad, he really never had a leading role in any major film that I can think of. He seems like he would've been a shoe-in for Hotel Rwanda but even that went to Don Cheadle.
His role in the MCU has been small though. No one cares about Korath. Maybe in the DCEU he'd get extra money from proceeds but I don't see him getting benefits like that in most of the films he does.

Apparently RDJ didn't have that in his contract when he started in the MCU. It was after Iron Man became a hot commodity that he got a pay raise and proceeds from the box office.

Djimon. Is a great actor but it's not really even about that. It ain't about what you worth or deserve.

As far as him not getting offered roles he wants, this is it. It’s unfortunate, but his look isn’t typical outside of African or Slavery related roles. His look isn’t typical of any Hero or “good guy” roles outside of those two elements. He isn’t big enough to play a scary villian either.
