How has the Trump Presidency directly affected your life so far?

I usually try to position myself in such a way that I rarely feel the influence of the president. But I am a federal employee so the bullshit can't be completely avoided. I happen to have a job that is likely exempt and I work remotely. I'm just concerned that I may have to drive in to the nearest federal building to work now. We'll see. I think the biggest impact will be me boycotting companies that roll back DEI. Not a big issue but I like to do my part even symbolically.

No, what I'm saying is that the true owners of this country allow the pendulum to swing back and forth (creating an illusion of choice), while steadily benefitting the whole time. They have a plan on how to benefit when Dems are in office based on how Dems govern and a plan to benefit when the Repubs are in control based on how Repubs govern.
That's too much conspiracy theory for me.

Yeah, those things you mentioned are what I'm keeping my eye open for.

  • job depending on federal grants
  • investments
  • housing/section 8
  • childcare
He says he's gonna do certain shit, but it's Trump. Everything he says he'll do gotta be taken with a grain of salt until he ACTUALLY makes a massive change.
Why chance it?
What the fuck kind of moronic shit is that? Damn.

Enough for me to leave Phoenix AZ and make this city my new home

Man, these mfkrs at the postal service were acting all nonchalant and shit after the election and even after all the bullshit from all those 100 executive orders the first week......

But this week.........?

Mayne that China ban thing really shook shit up..... for 24 hrs.......

I'm curious to see how they spin things tomorrow

personally me and mine havent had any problems since he took office in fact I made a little over $14k in market with the short sell and the immediate buy back.BUT I expect things to get more and more difficult as the weeks go by.

Let's just say one agency Trump hates so that was not a shock when I heard it ...lol

The other was based on some executive order but not DEI based as this was technical work.

Okay, so this was more the standard change that comes with a new president?

Btw, the purpose of this thread is to keep account of how Rump is directly affecting our lives. So many people in times like this say we should be focusing on local politics, rather than presidential politics. Though the stuff he's doing pisses you off reading the headlines, I'm trying to see how this will actually affect us personally.

I spoke too damn soon. Company just announced they're getting rid of all DEI programs in order to be in compliance for federal contracts. :smh:

I swear I need to find a new tech industry for the next 4 years that's non government.

Shouldn't there be some lawsuits boiling up behind this shit? What's the status?

I'm not sure how much a lawsuit would do. Maybe a lawyer on here could explain it if one were to happen. Maybe if ALL the companies combined with federal contracts filed one but hell I don't know. At this point shit is changing damn near every day

Considering I'm a federal contractor: my job isn't in direct jeopardy. Besides, I doubt they want to go fucking up the offices responsible for managing tarrifs and trade. :rolleyes:We are changing contracting companies but I still have a job through the year. Hopefully they'll pick up the next extension in October. Groceries are the same as they have been for the past few years ( I shop at Aldi so I'm not hurting) and eggs is the only thing that has gotten expensive.

I still work from home and despite changing companies, no one sees a reason to go back into an office. That's what old ass boomers don't and will not understand. If you cannot adjust and leverage technology and manage employees without having to directly observe them, you are an ineffective leader/manager. Your company probably sucks to work for to.

Nothing has affected me yet but there is more to come. Glad I have a lot of cash in reserves in case shit goes South.
