Went to a buy here pay here spot in the A when I got down here for college in 98. The car I initially was interested in from their lot an Acura Vigor was sold, but they had a Caprice Classic they thought "I'd like". I'm a New Yorker so I was skeptical of the taxi/ cop car looking shit. The only Chevy I was interested in, within my price point was a 1992 Yukon or Jimmy *pause* (2 door Tahoe).

However; I decided to test drive the Caprice. It was smooth at 1st, then that bitch started smoking Like grill at barbecue, as soon as we turned back into the lot. Salesman was pissed, and quit on the spot. The manager/ owner dude tried to smooth shit over with " its probably a hose. We'll fix it, but it would be reflected in the price" type bull shit. I said "Good luck with that" and walked my ass back to the Marta station.

Great life lesson. I never stepped foot on a buy here pay here lot after that.

I think this is a "remix" of a story that was on TikTok or something......dude was a Black accountant said his daughter/ niece bought a newer car it was $360 for 84 months......he asked her if she was sure and she she said something to the effect of she's handling her own business .....
And the message was this new generation is lost

nah man.
all of em do that shit. most will try to make it seem like its a good deal for you and charge you $150 bi-weekly.
then also hit you with a 24-28% APR. so this chick will end up owing over $30k for this piece of shit after its all said and done.
My mama got hit with some shit like that. Fell behind on her car note and didn’t say shit til they was about to take the car back. I asked her how much was the note and I would take care of it. The note was more than what the car was worth. I was so fuckin pissed.

That turd knows nothing of this.... he rides a mule in the field.... and drives a rusted old pickup truck that the farm owner said he could have for his family if he got it running again

Unfortunately, wifey and I got hit with this back in 2011. We had a 2006 Cadillac STS with 90k. Similar payments of $289 for like 80 months. High ass interest rate. It was the WORST fucking experience ever. The car has so many issues. The biggest was the timing belt went out TWICE. I paid to get all that shit fixed :crymeariver:

And the engine started knocking when we only had $1500 left to pay. I said “fuck it, I’m not putting anymore money into this shit.” By that time our credit greatly improved, so we didn’t have an issue getting a newer car with a lower interest rate.

When you got shitty credit, you’re valnurable.

Not fake these are those used car dealers that have a finance dude sitting in the back room.
back when I lived on flatbush and got a 3/12hr job in jersey decided to get something cheap and they tried to upsell me a crysler 300.
they use the monthly payment to get you. most can afford the monthly but don't realize how much they end up paying when its over 3/5/7yrs

I have a few projects that I'm doing to my house right now that I have financed. I completely ignore the monthly amount and work into my budget what I'm going to pay. For example, if the bill is 10k and the monthly payment 200 a month..forget that, MY montly payment is going to be 1000 a month or whatever my budget comes out to...

No way they are advertising those types of terms. So this is fake IMO.

That's not to say that they don't have very predatory lending practices w/ outrageous interest and terms.

That's how all these 392s and Hellcats get on the streets in the hands of these kids. :smh:
You couldn't finance this car for that amount. No lender would allow it, this is definitely some meme bullshit.

First of all, that chick ain't got $289 a month to pay for it. And little small dealers that sell little pieces of shit like that car, don't do long term loans (IME). 12-24 months tops.

They never said it was a “good “dream… people have bad and weird dreams everyday b

Webster describes a "dream" as a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal. What you described is a "nightmare"... Also 84 months of finance equals $24,276.00 :smh:

Actually when I just google the word dream definition.. this is the first definition that popped up

.
a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep.

So what I described early is a dream.. dreams don’t necessarily have to be good, bad, or understandable

Fake as fuck
Don't believe everything you see on the internet
Gotta be fake
There is nothing in the photo that can prove that it wasn't taken around 2003.

Chicago Woman Goes Viral After Getting Horribly Ripped Off Buying A 25-Year-Old Car

Chicago woman went viral on social media for paying what is believed to be an expensive amount of money for a nearly 25-year-old Ford sedan.

The unnamed woman agreed to pay $289 per month for the 1998 Ford Escort for 84 months, which amounts to a 7 year term at a car dealership, Hip-Hop Vibe reported. The outlet speculated that the purchase came about as a result of the woman getting money back during tax season.

Netizens took to Twitter to poke fun at the purchase:
