I swear this cat is an Actor now. Wasn't he in 40 year old Virgen?

Definition of Irony:
He was Rappin' about Hollywood and how wack it is
and now He is an Actor

Romany Malco (born November 18, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American actor and music producer. Getting his start as a rapper at age 7 under the name Kid Nice, he formed the rap group R.M.G. in his teens. The group moved to Los Angeles from Baytown Texas and changed their name to College Boyz. Under this name, Virgin Records signed the group, and their single "Victim of the Ghetto" went to #1 on the Billboard rap chart.

Later, Malco produced albums for artists such as Paula Abdul and CeCe Peniston and worked on film soundtracks. Malco was encouraged to start acting by John Leguizamo while he was working on the soundtrack to Leguizamo's film, The Pest.

Malco plays Conrad Shepard on the show Weeds, and recently appeared in the films The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Blades of Glory. He also portrayed rapper MC Hammer in the TV movie Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story, which aired on VH1 in 2001. In 2000, he played Jerry Hooten in Level 9.

In regards to his career, friend Judd Apatow advised Malco that street cred is important and that it is necessary to be selective when taking roles. "I didn’t come to this business broke and needing a job," Malco said of his career, "I actually came to this business saying no."

Props to Romany. Talented brother right there, for real. Rapping, producing, acting in tv and film. Solid. And he's great on 'WEEDS' for all those who haven't had a chance to check it out over the years. If you want to peep game, hit up http://www.ovguide.com , and of course when the eventual 4th season rolls around in 2008 or 2009 on Showtime (U.S.) and Showcase (Canada).

Also props to Judd Apatow. He's loyal to people he works with, and is genuine with it. He noted in an article in recent months that he's glad to finally land Jason Segel the lead in a film (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), in that he's been able to assist the likes of James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, and Bill Hader in spots wherein they can keep buildin' their already-strong status in the game too.

Right on, fam'.

Solid 3 seasons so far. You'll enjoy that shit. Hell - they're even creative with the theme music (allowing various artists to cover it). Did they do that in the 1st season too, or did they stick with Malvina Reynolds' version? I know in seasons 2/3 they had a variety of people cover the intro/theme (Snoop was one of 'em, if I remember correctly).

daryl mitchell use to be in a hip hop/r&b group in the 80's but became a full time actor. now he does more activist work for his spinal chord injury.

The first season, the song was all the same. I got the first two seasons on blu, so i just go straight to the actual show. I didnt pay attention to who was singing. Sometimes i would let it play though, but not pay much attention to it. Anf for the 3rd season, which im watching on demand, i just fast forward the theme music.

Its a good show, cause unexpected things happen. And the story line is good too. When does season 4 start?
