I got a whirlpool refrigerator and the icemaker is not making a lot of ice. It makes bout 1lb and then shuts off. I've check a few things but can't seem to figure it out. Fam, anyone got suggestions on what could be the issue or what I can do?

Call a repairman save urself from headaches and time.... but check the owner's manual first.... might be something that you can service

.

the hose that feeds water to the ice maker is probably frozen. You can unplug the fridge and let it thaw or disconnect the ice maker and the hose from the back and unclog it.

Are the frozen things frozen and is the fan in the freezer working when it needs to?

Try and open the freezer for as long as it takes for the thermostat to see it needs to get chill
and the fan should kick on.

no, i dont think thats the case because its making ice...just not a lot.. it seems to be turnning off prematurely.

yes, the freezer and frig work fine.. only issue is the lack of volume in making ice.

...If the hose was frozen.... it wouldn't make any ice.... he said it makes about a pound and then stops:dunno:

I had the issue once where the hose was froze but some water was coming through. It was making ice but not much. Ice makers are a pain in the ass.

Man,
Yesterday I bought a Frigidaire dishwasher Model: FGID2466QF and out the box got an ER code.
Repairman is here now.

pulled the ice maker out and inspected it. Half the tray was frozen over with ice. melted the ice, rinsed & dried the tray, re-inserted the ice maker. 24 hrs later. Ice maker back to making normal qtys of ice. Thanks for everyone's help on this issue.
