Well, I'm an older professional musician but I am very much in touch with all music young and old. I give everything a chance. Today's female artists are very much more visual and lesser in talent. Skimpy outfits and twerking. Listen to the music without the visual. Fucking horrible!

Most rap nowadays(ugh...feel old saying that) is unoriginal and elementary. Everyone doesn't have to rap like "they're trying to free the slaves", but at least rap like you give a fuck about your craft. I never liked the excuse of "but the beat is fire" as an excuse for why a song is great. If beats are the primary focus, there are a lot of afrobeats and dance producers putting out just music. I've been doing the hardwork of crushing some rapper's ego by saying their shit is wack. Gatekeeping is necessary, because no other genre of music would let someone get a pass when they can't do the basics.
