That's me. We are called Octoons or Octoroons, 1 x black great grandparent. Your analogy is correct however the African gene which gives the colour and features is progressive meaning that it is always present and can resurface at any time throughout future generations. Often called a throwback. But the gene present in Australian Aborigines, Torres straight islanders etc is regressive and can be bred out in total within 3 generations. The white European settlers actually used this technique to try and "breed out" the blackness of the locals.

No disrespect intended. I did say there are exceptions. If my insight helps any I am a team light skin brother myself. Both of my granddads were dark skinned. My paternal grandmother had straight hair and green eyes due to euro mixture and my maternal grandmother was part Choctaw. My pops is just a couple shades lighter than me and my mom is brown skin.

My opinion dark skin parent/white parent offspring usually looks better than light skin parent/white parent. There are exceptions either way though.

My Great Grandfather (my mother's grandfather) died 3 months before I was born but my mother describes him as 6'6" and as black as coal. He came to the UK from Trinidad to fight for the "mother country" in WW1. But on the Trini side of the family, there is also Spanish, Chinese and Irish blood, which gave my mother "Chinese eyes" and long straight black hair (until she went grey).

With your definition regarding the physical attributes of mixed/dual/bi-race children, I find that they are more likely to have mental issues not knowing quite what culture that they fit into and struggle to gain acceptance from one or t'other.
