The country should have shut down long ago in order for the virus to work its way thru and burn itself out.

Wall Street is more interested in making a buck than valuing human life.
It's survival of the fittest. They can give a good goddamn about us as long as we keep spending money in stores

Forcing another shutdown in America would be political suicide and they all know it that's why no one's pushing for it

If Joe Biden calls for it, all of the voters who could go one way or the other would vote Republican just because he's making them do something they don't want to. He's taking away their freedoms

Sad

Biden can't do it. The states have to do it same as last time. Don't believe the political rhetoric the right is shouting.

Twitter has announced that it will close its San Francisco and New York offices immediately as Covid cases surge across the country.

Wednesday’s announcement comes just two weeks after the social media company reopened their offices at both cities.

“After careful consideration of the CDC’s updated guidelines, and in light of current conditions, Twitter has made the decision to close our opened offices in New York and San Francisco as well as pause future office reopenings, effective immediately,” a Twitter spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday.

No. It would be anarchy. Most businesses are barely surviving. Let’s the antimaskers die off. Bill Burr said he’s been saying it for 3 specials “Stop making that guy!” I truly at this point don’t care who takes an L. I know 2 with omicron and both were vaxxed and the their cases are basically the flu. Not even an overnight in the hospital. If you aren’t vaxxed and don’t wear masks so be it. Peace-the-fuck-own-out!!!!

That's been the issue since the very beginning.

The federal government has limited authority on lockdowns. That's up to states, counties and cities.

One thing I've noticed from experience is that lockdowns tend to work best when they're enforced by social pressure rather than government.

For instance, early on San Francisco encouraged people not to hold large gatherings in their households. There was no law against it, no police involvement, just the mayor saying "do your part to protect yourself and keep this infection from spreading." For the most part people complied.

In Vancouver, not only did they issue fines for at home gatherings, the authorities encouraged people to call the police if it looked like their neighbors had too many people over. Families with older teenagers were getting harassed because the cops would see three or four cars in the driveway and assume they were having a party.

As a result people started breaking this law out of spite. It created an attitude where future covid rules were harder to enforce.

Twitter was already moving away from these cities before the pandemic started.

I understand that,, But whichever State governors what do you think about it it would be political suicide. Their opponents would pounce, accuse them of being RINOs and work to get them removed from office

No, I don't. Give people a few checks and unemployment and they will shut up. Just like last time.

game is or games are*
I’m far from perfect. You however, are responsible for thee most poorly constructed, nonsensical, giber-jabber blather that has ever been attempted on these BGOL streets, and that not an easy task. Its ok though because: 1. we know English isn’t your first language, 2. We don’t give a fuck what you say.

Tech giants still want part of nyc

Because it's New York City. Tech companies have always wanted a part of it no matter what. It's just a matter of how much.

If you're new to the tech game and don't have a lot of money it's not enough to move near a tech company's suburban office. If that company doesn't hire you you're SOL. It's better to locate a city where there's more doors to jam your foot into.

Same thing applies to tech companies looking for raw talent.
