You realize the Mandela supported Arafat and the PLO (Fatah) which Hamas is the mortal the enemy of? Right? :smh:Hamas has terrorized anyone who backs Fatah including torture, jailing , killing, property seizures etc. But hey, this is BGOL so actual facts don't matter... :smh:
Hit dogs will holler. WTF are you smoking? You swear you're kicking some type of knowledge in here. :lol:You mean to tell me that Hamas terrorized some people? And that other groups have beef with them? Gee, who would have thought.

I really hate when these dudes try to shame others like this.

Stop waiting for the NBA to fix every problem in the world. It can't!

His Muslim brothers in the NBA are grown ass men! If he had a message to give them he could pick up the phone and give them a fucking call!

If he REALLY looked at them as his brothers he wouldn't be calling them out like this to try to fight his own fight.

The Jews.

The entire area from Gaza to Judea & Samaria, up to Golan Heights near Syria, was/is theirs from the early 2nd century BC.

Arabs did not entire the frame until 500-1000 years after.

This is why there is a conflict.

You’re also correct to question this map as it only shows one side of the story.

Here’s a more accurate visual:

The first two squares from left to right, represent Jewish Israel before the Arabs made their way in through migration.
Ashkenazi Jews were not settled in this land. Don't be a propagandist....

Edit: i see your acknowledgement up above

 You literally have no idea what you are talking about and continue to just flail. Hamas hates the PLO and tried to kill Arafat, you know the man that Mandela greatly respected: http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9604/21/arafat/

Hamas has executed not only Fatah officials but anyone they deem too sympathetic to Fatah:

Hamas gunmen hunt down Fatah rivals in Gaza Strip

Hamas militants swept through Gaza City neighborhoods, searching residential buildings for Fatah loyalists. One Hamas source said the hunt was to eliminate “collaborators”, not to exact revenge.

It’s payback time in Gaza, where victorious Hamas gunmen dragged the body of one of their main Fatah opponents through a refugee camp on Thursday.

Hamas’s armed wing said it had “executed” leading Fatah militant Samih al-Madhoun, who had previously broadcast a pledge to kill all members of the Islamist movement.

Several security officers loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s secular Fatah faction were fleeing Gaza City as Islamist Hamas death squads roamed the streets.

One Fatah member, who called himself Ahmed, said Hamas gunmen had killed eight of his friends: “I escaped by a miracle. Hamas is carrying out an execution campaign against us.”

Shit, the right in Israel have cynically backed Hamas primarily because they are wildly destructive to their own people, incompetent and not able to actually govern. The fucking Israelis can see this but somehow you cant which is amazing

For years, the various governments led by Benjamin Netanyahu took an approach that divided power between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank — bringing Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to his knees while making moves that propped up the Hamas terror group.

The idea was to prevent Abbas — or anyone else in the Palestinian Authority’s West Bank government — from advancing toward the establishment of a Palestinian state.

[S]ince he took office as prime minister a second time in 2009, Netanyahu developed and advanced a destructive, warped political doctrine that held that strengthening Hamas at the expense of the Palestinian Authority would be good for Israel.

The purpose of the doctrine was to perpetuate the rift between Hamas in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. That would preserve the diplomatic paralysis and forever remove the “danger” of negotiations with the Palestinians over the partition of Israel into two states — on the argument that the Palestinian Authority doesn’t represent all the Palestinians.

That flawed strategy turned Hamas from a minor terrorist organization into an efficient, lethal army with highly trained, dehumanized stormtroopers, bloodthirsty killers who mercilessly slaughtered innocent Israeli civilians including women, children and the elderly.

[In other words, Netanyahu] knowingly and calculatingly cultivated one of Israel’s most bitter and fanatic foes, an enemy whose declared aim is to destroy the country. And he did it to prevent the horror scenario from his standpoint of a return to Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. Netanyahu recklessly gambled on the lives of Israelis, and in fact, last Shabbat, more than 1,000 of them paid the price of that foolish gamble with their lives.

I think part of the problem for westerners is that many think Jews are white people, exclusively.

Most Israelis look like Palestinians or Middle Eastern stock, well before the Ashkenazi brand were privy to in the States. I’ve witnessed real Hebrews vehemently deny that they’re exclusively white, and even the white passing Jews I’ve come across do not claim whiteness or if they do, it comes with an asterisk.

It’s a lot different from the race relations we have in the west, particularly the US.

For those still questioning why we should care about Palestinian liberation.

This is a good listen, but I don't agree that Black people have to be sympatric to everyone else's struggle because for us to be free, they have to be free.

I think that over simplifies the struggles we face in America.

I do agree w/ most of the other things he was saying.

HAMAS FULL STATEMENT:

13 Oct. 2023

Press release

We adamantly reject to be expelled from our homes once again.

We will resist Israel’s attempt to ethnically cleanse Gaza.

Our unwavering determination is to resist Israel’s pursuit of ethnic cleansing in Gaza, firmly resolved to prevent a second Nakba from unfolding.

The current developments in Gaza represent an extraordinarily audacious and brutal endeavor to forcibly remove the Palestinian indigenous people from their land.

Israel has publicly declared its plan to commit genocide against Palestinians.

The Zionist entity, supported by Western governments, has conducted a war of intense bombardment, releasing more than 6,000 bombs upon Gaza within the past week.

Nearly 500 children have been tragically killed as a result of the intense bombardment, carried out by the Zionist entity.

They have targeted mosques, a church, educational institutions, residences, and medical facilities with bombings, yet it is our people who are erroneously branded as terrorists.

Today, we have seen the mobilization of millions in the Arab and Muslim world, extending their support to the courageous Palestinians in Gaza.

We express our heartfelt gratitude for their solidarity and implore them to continue, urging them to march to the borders and play their part in this historic juncture that promises the restoration of our freedom and the dignity of all Arabs and Muslims.

To our allies living in western countries, the free noble people of those societies.

You too have a role to play, to pressure your governments to abandon their support to Netanyahu and his fascist government.

To correct the lies of the media, lift this barbaric siege on our people.

Yes what the Zionists are doing is inhumane, it is unprecedented, it is barbaric and contravenes all the laws and treaties that the so-called free and democratic countries claim they believe in.

But our resolve is unbreakable. We will not surrender our legitimate fight for freedom and self-determination. We will either live standing tall or we will die fighting.

The systemic tools used for oppression around the world isn’t singular to one nation or region. What affects those in Palestine, Turkey, Tibet, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, North Korea and beyond, all have a common denominator in which the elite go about oppressing it’s captors.

While the impact may not be direct, it’s that granular micro thinking that misses the big picture completely. It would be naive to dismiss the tools and manner with which the oppressors engage their nation, cause that could easily end up oppressing black people once again. And history does have a tendency to repeat itself.

Look at China in Africa ..

Best to keep eyes wide open and learn cause if (knock on wood) it comes down to it again, you can’t play the game if you don’t know the rules.

I think the issue is Black people here are overly concerned when that same concern doesn’t apply to other countries. This is hardly the only place dealing with shit like this

Well this conflict is trending and affecting every aspect of day-to-day life, given the swarm of tweets by corporations on socials, and given who owns and operates American consumerism, naturally people are gonna gravitate towards it and give it more attention.

But you’re in line with what I was getting at, that folks need to be paying more attention regularly when it’s NOT a hot topic. If this conflict draws them in and wakes them up, then I’m ok with that.

No doubt , I think if more people over here saw that most of those Jews over there look just like Palestinians and not the cacs you see all over NYC they’d feel a little different. I think people are visualizing those Hasidic Jews when they think Israel

The systematic tools used for suppression is not rocket science.

This is cultural and not some huge wave of oppression that's going to sweep the globe if we aren't careful.

It's really Easy B-like to speak of this watch out or we will all be enslaved type of talk.

It's just a bunch of overblown talking points to me.

Sounds cool, but what is going on over there, does not apply to American Black people.

If that's granular micro thinking, I'm OK w/ that.

BTW.... I do get the economic and global impact of an event like this. I get that we are global, but that conflict is so specific and based in religion and land ownership that is specific to that region.

It’s not, but you’d be surprised at how many people are clueless to the BASICS. Most Americans are content with going to the mall and spending money on Jordan’s.

And that’s fair. If it doesn’t pertain or strike any interest to you, it doesn’t have to. That doesn’t mean the sheeple I’m referring to can’t learn either.

Two things can be true.

I was gonna make this point earlier, (I think I might have) but most westerners think Jews are exclusively white. Far from it. Most Jews from the Middle East look Palestinian, Iraqi, Iranian, Lebanese, Syrian etc. The imported CAC’s from Europe are what we get here in the states and the west so that’s what many here believe to be the case.

Even white passing Jews I’ve grown up with and come across in the DMV, DO NOT consider themselves white.

There’s a definite disconnect from what Jews truly are to what people believe they are.

All Lives Matter?

What happens when there’s a huge influx of Jews into America? They’ll gladly be accepted, invetted, and given stimulus checks and bank loans.
While Jews were expelled from the world for their usury, we accepted it with open arms.

Nobody HAPPILY goes into debt like Americans.

:dunno:
