During those 10 years, they probably weren’t engaged but that could also take into account when they started the relationship, time before the engagement, and the engagement.
With the way people on this board usually talk, I’m surprised most people are saying David is a simp, etc. No one (as far as I’ve seen) in their replies has suggested that he stayed around for the last couple of years bc of his child and/or he may have suspected something so he patiently waited until he had confirmation.
It isn’t the case for everyone but 10 years, especially when you are constantly busy, can go by quicker than one realizes.
