I was checking NC's map and it's very similar to 2016. My county went strong for Biden.
NC is still working on its demographic shift.

The myth of the wealthy billionaire businessman is gone, and even as a former president, Trump’s last days and dollars may be spent dodging criminal charges and creditors. What an inglorious way to ride into the sunset.
He wanted to be loved like Obama is and four years of trying to erase his legacy came up short in many ways, and has gotten him much more scorn and hate than a narcissist can handle. Think about it; whose going to a Trump presidential library, besides his base? Might be the first visit to a library for all of them!

He COULD if he chose to but I don't think that moves have been made like that since the 19th Century. In the modern era, former Presidents, having been at the pinnacle of power, do not seek lesser seats. You DO see Governors move around though, like Thompson of WI, and Romney went from State Capitols to Senate seats. Not modern Presidents though.
They move out of the spotlight and make appearances, do speaking engagements, write books, or pick up some hobby to stay preoccupied with.
Folks in Atlanta and other areas in GA need to get ready now to go back and put them over the finish line.
