@Spectrum from your studies/knowledge, is there any limitations placed in the last few months on the incumbant that losses their re-eleciton bid?

My understanding suggesta the incumbant still has full power to do just about anything.
Clearly, the forefathers never imagined someone as unstable as Trump in that position.

Shit is dangerous to have this emotion clown with full power during the last 2 months or so..

The concept is like firing an employee from the job and having them stick around for the next 2 months..?:smh:
All you have is a transfer of power in which Biden would get the same intelligence as Trump and briefings.

Generally Congress would prevent any crazy shit from popping off

:smh:

That's not true! Several times the POTUS has dropped bombs and pulled other military operations without the approval of congress before hand.

More importantly get involved and take control of your government and stop begging. Take an owner's attitude ajd not a renter's attitude.

I've said the same thing in the past:

I think we have a lot that we can learn from other black peoples. I don't think they are more successful because they are better or have more drive, but they haven't been conditioned with the propaganda that black excellence is an anomaly. They grow up with black doctors, black professionals, black business owners as the norm. We have been conditioned that we are going to get as far as white folks LET us, and we can't be TOO successful or jealous whites will take it away just like they did Tulsa/black wall street. They don't have all that baggage. They don't see ownership as white people shit, whereas many American born blacks have a permissive mindset.

We talk about civil rights, but all these decades later we still see rights as being granted to us, rather than something we are entitled to by virtue of being born here in America. Many of us still see ourselves as beggars rather than rightful citizens. That's a white narrative that keeps us "othered" and we parrot that same nonsense.

This isn't in response to you but since we are talking about future actions throughout this thread, for good measure:

Thank you!!!

It seems like a lot of folks don't know how things work. Voting, lobbying and contributions are the forms of political currency that politicians understand. Just like in regular life, you can't obtain anything or get a return unless you spend or invest said currency.

These folks don't want to vote or have anyone else vote, don't want to lobby anyone but democrats, half-assed at that, and don't want to contribute to candidates or form a superpac to put pressure on folks, yet expect magically get their agenda passed.

All the other groups they talk about getting "tangibles" have lobbyists that keep their issue in the face of elected officials, give money to people who support their agenda, and are very well organized to deliver or withhold votes to sway elections. They will vote for you or against you, but they rarely sit it out.

It wouldn't be so bad, but the tea party gave us the blue print. They sort of started out organically, but they weren't true grassroots, they were astroturfed. They had dark money being funneled to them via Americans for Prosperity and other groups buying them nice tour busses and allowing them to travel and keep discontent going.

When they realized the GOP was just using them to harness their energy to keep opposition to Obama in the headlines, and wasn't really trying to overturn roe vs wade, they showed the eff out. They had been legitimized by the GOP, who winked at their racism, saying they didn't agree with it but oh free speech. They started primarying establishment GOP with true believers, won the seats, and Congress had to kiss their asses for several years and there are still a few left causing problems to this day.

What they DIDN'T do, is sit out. If their candidate lost they still voted GOP because stopping Obama and the democrat agenda was still more important when it came down to a Republican and a dem.

Not showing up does nothing but reinforce the belief that black folks don't participate, aren't engaged, and can't be relied upon.

We have self described non voters suddenly going around here proclaiming they are going to not vote and encouraging others not to vote. It's like folks who proclaim they are boycotting Starbucks, or the most recent offender to black folks, when we don't patronize them in the first place. Your absence can't be noted if you've never shown up in the first place. You can't affect someone's bottom line or effect an outcome by non participation when you weren't participating to begin with.

I'm not against protest or third party voting, it can be very effective if used properly. I didn't advocate for it in 2016 because it was clear to me that Trump was a serious danger, and I don't advocate 3rd party voting now for the same reason. We don't just need our Presidential candidate to win, we need clear majorities in both houses for more than one year, or even one term, to roll back Trumps fuckery and move forward on a progressive agenda.

These are not normal times and it is far too important to get rid of Trump along with Stephen Miller, who is a clear threat to black folks and other PoC. However, I would have a lot more respect for ADOS if they were organizing folks to show up and write in the same name, something like "Reparations Candidate". Names that garner at least 1% of the vote are usually listed on tv by name. Seeing that you are showing up but spending your money elsewhere, gets attention and causes you to be courted to see how they can gain your business. Even picking a GOP or Dem candidate to support and then pulling support because they didn't do XYZ and causing them to lose next cycle will get attention and your vote courted.

All this "we aren't going to do anything but demand what we want" is nonsense. Other groups demand also but they exercise their power to make or break a candidate. Ados, or at least the ones acting as a mouth piece for the movement, aren't serious. All they are doing is sowing discontent and dividing black folks. They have no plan to actually achieve their goal. I've seen no effective strategy at all. Or at least they haven't been able to articulate one. All they seem to want to do is be seen running the Oppression Olympics, telling everyone how shitty black folks have been and still are being treated in comparison to everyone else. Even if we win that race, we still lose.

When it comes to forcing change there are a few ways to do it. 1)You can take it by force, which we don't have the numbers or firepower to do. 2)You can beg and plead and hope some throws you a bone. It can be effective, even with the loss of dignity and respect. The squeaky wheel gets the grease type of situation. 3)You can advocate from a position of power, which I've outlined before. Black folks should have the moral highground and be able to influence like the Jews do in regard to their mistreatment. There is a difference in getting reparations for healing and getting it to make others pay, and how this is presented can determine who you win to your cause. Folks don't want to walk in power like Jews do. Their focus wasnt on other groups like this anti immigrant rhetoric we see, it was square on the harm done to them. 4) Finally, tho I'm open to other suggestions, you can educate the public and push legislation. It makes no sense not to get allies. If reparations were approved tomorrow and all dems voted out as backlash, what's the plan to keep them? Laws can be passed but they can be challenged in court and new laws written to negate them. When Tanehisi Coates went to Congress and spoke on reparations, there were white folks on social media who said they had never heard of redlining and other things to disenfranchise black folks. So I think it needs to be a combination of 3 and 4.

It doesn't matter tho. Like I said, we don't have the organization and vision with clear goals people can rally behind. I've tried over and over again to get them to articulate one, but it's all been BS from the beginning, a plot to destroy the system. They were just lying and trying to use reparations as a vehicle to talk folks out of voting to make it happen. Now I understand why they got so angry when we asked for a plan and why folk thought we are were going to get reparations out of thin air and no legislation passed. Hopefully this non voting nonsense doesn't go mainstream.

Very well said. I've been trying to make these points for years. We can't take the position that we can't help or defend others for fear they will surpass us in some manner or because we get some sort of satisfaction from seeing some other than black folks suffer. We should be standing against injustice and for what is right regardless of who is involved. They are using immigrants to set precedent to be used against all of us.

We all know how black folks were dehumanized and treated. What is going on now might not be on the same scale as what happened to us, but it is still wrong. None of us would be ok standing for weeks at a time like some of the folks in these camps.

Folks who want reparations can advocate for their cause using immigrants. They aren't experiencing a tenth of what black folks did and we are being told they will never be right again. We can have the moral highground, stop these injustices, and at the same time publicize what was done to our communities, how we were and are still being affected, and ask for what we need for wholeness and healing. Most white folks hear reparations and think free handout. It's an opportunity to use immigrants to educate and advocate for reparations for black people. They don't hear us when we are asking for ourselves. They see it as begging. We have to act from a stronger position. We have the position but I don't see anyone using it.

People are buying into this white mindset that if one group gets a win, or just breaks even, we all lose. We can't buy into this thinking. They can win on their issues and we can win on ours too. We are all facing and fighting WS but now we have black folks ready to let some fall on a different front simply because they are a different race and this didn't used to be the case. We are losing our moral standing if we are ok with the mistreatment of others by this government. We won't be taken seriously as being against mistreatment or WS if we are ok with other groups being subjected to it. Both Jews and Japanese have come out against these camps.

Also Trump and co isn't JUST targeting Mexicans right now. They are coming for all groups at the same time. We can't be so short sighted and focused on the individual incidents that we can't see the big picture.

We have an opportunity to to position ourselves as a moral authority in opposition to America's hateful practices, similar to how the Jewish community has. We can advocate and acquire resources for our community, while advocating for other PoC.

We have all these studies about how children will be affected even with counseling. For a few months of abuse vs the centuries that we endured. Do you ever recall any slaves being sent to therapy? Joy brings that point up in her Post traumatic slave syndrome presentation.

Anytime the black community seeks assistance it is seen as begging. We have an opportunity to change the narrative and demand from a position of strength to be compensated for ongoing abuses to fix issues in our community caused by this country's treatment of us. I can bet you almost anything these immigrants are about to get PAID via numerous lawsuits.

When you are advocating for someone else it is always viewed more favorable than when it appears you are only vested in self interest.

I can't be the only one who sees the potential possibilities in this. The president just got finished with an infomercial for racial hatred covered on all the news networks. With social media there can be pushback and gains for our own community.

"Trump is doing ABC. This causes DEF. We know because it happened to us. We need to stop him from doing this to (whomever the target of the moment is). We need healing in our community still. GHI is what we need. " then lobby for what we want.

I can't be the only person who thinks like this. I don't know the details of how to organize and make it happen, but I see the possibilities to do the right thing AND help our communities come up in the process.

SIG change coming in hot...... lol

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Will Trump's razor thin loss to Biden haunt him forever?

There is something coming that I absolutely can’t WAIT for.

Based on the way things are going now, how everything looks. This is how everything is most likely to fall at the end of the race.

main-qimg-fb39d1ea1b10ba8c7fb5569201d229d5

It’s not settled yet, but everything left in Georgia and Pennsylvania will likely trend the way it has been trending, and most of the votes left to count in Nevada and Arizona are from typically blue areas and typically blue voting methods.

North Carolina, Alaska, and one Congressional District in Maine will likely head to Trump.
306–232

What I can’t WAIT for is, at the end of the day the inevitable day when Trump calls it a “Very narrow” victory.

Because if you recall, This:

According to Trump was a landslide of historic proportions.

main-qimg-4cbef50017a64d5b64b0f3852a734687

304–227.

Right now, what I also PROMISE you Trump will eventually call a “Very narrow” popular vote victory sits at 50.5% to 47.7%, and although much of the vote isn’t counted, California for example is still only at about 77% counted, Joe Biden already has more votes than any presidential candidate in history

main-qimg-567e8a01c82fc588c5ed17e7e5af8a7d

He will call it very narrow, despite it being nearly a point wider than his last loss in the popular vote

main-qimg-e0d76c143531692ce2eefd351c45487d

You KNOW this is going to happen.

The cognitive dissonance is STRONG with this one.

Most black folks didnt vote for Biden because they love him...somebody was just playing music really loud and they just wanted to get a good night rest so they made a police report. But they know the music is going to be loud again the next night.
