And as far as Rory and Mal not branching out and doing other / more pods:

Rory has stated he had / has a lot of personal ish going on so another podcast outside of JBP was out of the question.

After the Palooza ish with Stylez' name hot on the net for ALL THE WRONG reasons and covid fucking up the album rollout and touring (podcast and musically)....dude has been distant, aggravated and tight those past few pods....

MAL has stated he is not a podcast dude. He guessed on Whorible Decisions a couple times and I think one other pod.....but dude never gave off the impression he had ambitions for his own or another thing on the network.

Does anyone think $$ is ultimately the underlying issue to their absence....

And yes Mal is a damned fool if the hill he is dying on (by leaving the pod) is some unrequited loyalty to Rory.....they met through Joe, they weren't really friends. Second Joe brought Mal in after 40-50 eps....to replace an original member

I think their podcasts relied heavily on content from hip-hop celebrities. And it's been a slow year for most of them. Making the podcast slow as well.

Obviously they are still the number 1 hip hop podcast... But drink champs and gillie and wallo have been more enjoyable over the pandemic in my opinion.

I feel like it would serve Joe budden and his listeners if he were able to do a podcast with someone of equal or more success in life and with women. Like maybe someone like Cam'ron, Royce, or Ludacris? Then it would challenge Joe to stop the over talking and the condescending tone and have him challenged "against" a worthy opponent. (I know it isn't first take or undisputed format....but essentially that's all it is though).

See that's interesting

I was actually impressed on how the podcast was able to thrive WITHOUT celebrity guests.

And I thought other podcasts like drink Champs don't do well WITHOUT strong guests.

I liked Joe rory Mal ability to talk about all topics even outside hip hop.

That is a rare skill and the pandemic exposed alot of shows.

That being said?

Drink Champs last few interviews have been straight classics

And Gillie, show is entertaining as hell.

But the audience seems to love the new line up with Joe...

damn these fans ain't loyal

I don't know if the new dudes are ACTUALLY better or is this just some schadenfreude from so called fans who think THEY could do a better job?

Mal strong loyalty to Rory is admirable but I think very misplaced if the story behind all this is true.

I gotta check that Drunk Champs Cam'ron interview a lot of ppl said it was fire....I used to be heavy on DC but Nore gets belligerent and just rapid fires from topic to topic when he's drinking heavy.....

I'm like damn dude didn't even fully answer the question and nore is asking him 2 more....

And props to Gille and Wallo, but Barstool is propping those guys up .......

Fans aint fickle... the pod is very good,
and imo the patreon discussions have been better with I & I
than Rory n Mal

Joe & Rory are still in couples counseling, if they make progress will determine if when Rory comes back - is what Joe is saying

the recent pods have incorporated other friends and family - my guess is that would continue if Rory n Mal come back

People just like that these guys are actually giving their opinions on topics and not coming from their industry biases.... And main of all willing to intellectually combat and hold joe's feet to the fire when he on some Bullshit... Which to me is very often. I couldn't listen to a show with just Joe budden I feel like rory did a decent job in the past of balancing perspectives similar to the young black guy he had on his revolt show "state of the culture" .

Nore has heard the criticism and has tried to get better about that. He comes in with his printed card of topics or his cellphone with questions he jotted down.. and he's trying to let people finish their stories without getting sidetracked too much.

The new guys= Dennis Rodman

The bulls needed a rebounder as a missing piece to help when multiple rings... Horace grant thought bulls couldn’t prob win another without his presence than they got Rodman.. this is what’s happening now with the joe budden podcast... if Horace want some more rings he better understand and appreciate his role on the team or get replaced by Rodman
