It was Drake being Drake
at this point that boy is his own genre of music.
It's difficult to judge cause his fans gonna love this. But he at gaining any new ones and honestly he ain't trying to.
I still can't bring myself to listen to that Kanye yet.
But I at least want to hear the griselda, how and lox records just as a fan of THOSE artists and me being a hip hop fan.

If a person doesn’t like Drake or his music, then his album is trash. If a person who doesn’t listen to Drake and listens to see what the hype’s about, they probably won’t like it.
Drake makes Drake’s music, Kendrick makes Kendrick’s music and Jay z makes Jay z music.

The album’s not trash, it’s Drake being Drake. If they don’t like him explaining his life and what he goes through, then they simply don’t like him.

Artists that transcend and crossover
Redefine themselves
I know entertainment has never been as segregated as it is now but I think it interesting how Drake, Kendrick and Cole specifically occupy a unique space.
I think Kanye (complicated by his dumb ass but still), Jay, Beyonce, Rihanna etc are completely different level of fandom...
And acceptance.
Drake is so interesting because his journey and catalogue and the ghostwriting makes his relationship to fans and haters so conflicted.
And then you add Kendrick fans and Cole fans...
It's not like when we was coming up.
It's like you are not ALLOWED to appreciate different artists on their own specific merits
