husband got in her ear to keep the money within themselves basically. Husband is a rude boy that seen a talented country girl in Elaine with earning potential. He's never coached higher than the secondary school level, never coached a pro sprinter before Elaine

Damn! Didn't realize she did that. I knew she replaced her coach, but didn't know it was with her inexperienced husband. That could be the difference in her performance. I know Steiner and several others always mention their coach after a race. Those trainers are very important. A good one will notice small stuff and really help fine tune them before a race. Not sure her husband is able to view her the way a trained coach would. But sometimes you have as much success as she has. And you start to think you can maintain with a less qualified person.

so versatile ...paid her dues ....i`ll b shocked if she loses ...but hey thats why they run the races ...

27 and she is in her prime now ...i think she can go faster in the 100 ...

by her interviews she gets it ...she is like a coach and knows her weaknesses and if she messes up while she is running the race ...thats rare...

While well-intentioned, this video has ignored the 20 ton elephant in the room. In the 1960s and 1970s, the East German and the Soviet "women" dominated women's sprinting. In the 1980s and 1990s, American women dominated women's sprinting. Then the drug testing methodology got better. It is no wonder that Sha'Carri deliberately sabotaged her Olympic appearance, because whatever helped her run sub 11.1-second 100m times, would have been detected by WADA.

Since then, the African and Caribbean women have began to dominate women's sprinting, and will continue to do so. Because sprinting at the world and Olympic level has managed to weed out the cheaters. So it is no coincidence, now that African and Caribbean women are competing in "clean" field. Can you believe that in the 1970s, the Bulgarian women's 4x100m team smoked the Jamaican women's team. Where are the Bulgarian women sprinters nowadays? Did Bulgaria suddenly not have the resources to continue training their female athletes? Poor Merlene Ottey, always got Bronze, because she competed clean against other women who weren't.

anyone care to opine???

Nike has been spending less on track as the athletes in the sport just don't move product like ones in the other sports they really care about where they allocate their funds towards

Does anyone know why big pockets NIKE has failed and tcouldn't dislodge PUMA as Jamaica's main sponsors?

Merlene always got the bronze to that East German chick (forgot her name) and Evelyn Ashford (who I dont think was cheating)...Evelyn and the other top US sprinters then started getting their ass beat by Flo Jo who got super fast all of a sudden...was an interesting time

Seems to be a more even playing field now...either the cheaters have been weeded out or everybody is cheating at the same level...hard to believe Bolt was cheating as they moved heaven and Earth to try and catch him

Among Jamaicans it is known that back in the day we would do extremely well at the Penn Relays at the high school level but then turn around and lose to those same athletes at the post collegiate level

That comment mentioned Sha'Carri...I have no idea about her but her crazy up and down performances seem more mental than drug induced
