You act like you don't know that those commercials are already pre-programmed regardless of the results of the race. Nike capitalized on the support she got after the Olympic trials and bet on her to make a strong showing in this event. I'm not saying Nike or other sponsors will drop her, but I'm betting we won't see that level of promotion again until she starts perform at elite level again.
In sports history we've seen this kind of thing before where an athletes performance and popularity are not always in sync with each other. Remember Dan and Dave from the 92 Olympics had all kind of promotions and commercials supporting their decathalon, but then Dan failed to make it past the US trials. Maybe she can pull a Anna Kourinakova and be a successful brand without ever reaching the pinnacle of her sport, but that doesn't really happen for Black athletes the way it does for white ones.
I love the fact they are acting like this with a woman. When it's a man it's one thing, but to see immigrant "men" go at a young woman will open eyes. I have never hated on a female athlete in my life.

She talks too much. Her team really needs to get her media training and fast. A better coach might also help. Her performance was a travesty after all the shit talking. This is now her second major absolute failure. It's cool to lose, but damn LAST and then you quit the 200m final? I bet she hasn't run 11.1 since high school.
Her 1st interview was absolutely terrible, the 2nd one was much better to her credit.
