So here is my input on this dress thing.

Katt has a fucking perm. A PERM!! Who is he to criticize others for wearing a dress?!!!

Just cause these dudes might have put on a dress for a skit or some movie role, doesn't make them sell outs or coons or gay.

Katt has Little Man syndrome so badly that he has to try to diminish others, in a serious way, to make him feel better about his self.

Katt is a decent dude, but he has a ton of his own issues he needs to sort out.
Here's the thing though, katt isnt the only one saying that and other legendary comedians and actors have said the same thing as well. For example Lamont from Sanford son talked about him not wearing a dress for a role.

it is ok when white men wear dresses ?????or is it just fucked up when black men do it...
As I asked, I have no idea about the ratio in comparison in Hollywood and the prerequisite that would lead to bigger fame. That is why I asked.

The reason why I think some have issue with it is the history of Hollywood with blackface and also times when the people in power fought against positive black male figures being represented.

An example is the first black family sitcom with a whole family in Good Times.

They originally didn't want a strong black father on the show and just wanted Esther Rolle to be the matriarch of her kids. She fought against it along with the actual creator of the show Eric Monte and they eventually caved in. They both felt it was odd they were so against a black family having a father.

Contrast that with early days of television having father figures on shows like Leave it to Beaver or even Brady Brunch. The writers never thought of not having a father figure on there. James Evans eventually was killed off the show anyways when he was seen as complaining too much about not writing the show in a way that actually reflected black families in the 70s.

OK counselor..... I will re-direct.

These are celebrities right? Celebs get a certain level of leeway in these sorts of things.

You go down to the local Piggly Wiggly and see a dude all permed out working in produce and you will think that shit is weird AF.

So I argue that a dress worn by a man for a movie or skit, being done for entertainment purposes, is acceptable and not gay.
To each their own but I'll never mention a perm and dress being the same thing because they aren't which was a bad example. But like I said, some would regret wearing that dress for a movie or TV role but by that time it's too late because it will forever be broadcast but then again, sometimes they gotta do what they gotta do to put food on the table for their families to eat don't mean nobody gotta accept that shit..

EXACTLY what it is!

Everybody wants to be an Avenger or 007 or some smooth detective, but you gotta eat and get your name out there first.

It's a shitty deal 'cause like you said, that shit is forever on the web.

But everybody has a choice as well to either accept that role or decline. Because you can't go back on your decision once you made up your mind. But then again some of the actors and comedians made peace with the fact that they wore a dress because it paid the bills but others like katt don't have to accept that!

lol.... I'm saying that MOST men would say, unless you a West Coast nigga, that wearing a perm is feminine as fuck!!

You think this shit is masculine?!!

I really don't care, but dude has ZERO room to criticize anyone!
Come on dawg majority of black hairstyles are unisex. Men wearing dresses is cross dressing, no comparison

Yeah people make their choices and have to live with it. Will Smith chose that role years ago and comes back to haunt him in recent months. Others don't want that stigma on them because it is hard to shake.

Mase said it best recently too.

How old are you? I’m guessing Tyler ain't cool because you were an adult when you saw him in a dress, and the others you saw as maybe a child or teenager. All that shit was unnecessary and didn't age well.
i never said tyler perry wasn't cool. i like his movies and respect all the work he's put in and done throughout. his character madea just didn't go good with the serious subjects of his movies to me. besides him playing a character he's nothing of comedian like jamie, martin and rickey.

It's the equivalent to working in the mailroom so you can one day try to be VP of Sales or something. There are some people that won't sort the mail. They think they are too good to start on the bottom. Just like some won't wear a dress or play certain roles.

I get wearing a dress is one thing, but do we really think any one of those dudes is gay?! Do we really care?! It can be part of the Hollywood hustle. I absolutely hate when Black people play slaves or be subservient to White folks in a role. I also don't judge the actor for the choice he/she makes either.

We have all done some shit we are not proud of.

Yes, I hate these slave movies and sometimes gangsta movies and TV shows depending on what it's about because I feel our people are talented enough to do other roles in movies and TV shows without playing a thug, slave and doing gay shit. But theses CACS are intimidated for whatever reason to not allow our people to branch in other roles that are powerful, enlightening, fun and positive.

Yeah, we have all done something that we weren't proud of but we made that choice to do it whether we want to accept it or not!

We don't give ah fuck about what them CACS do.
just playing devils advocate... but that still don't answer the question

to that end.. why do we care what roles these "actors" take

they are just actors playing a role getting paid....

do straight actors playing a gay role get the same treatment??

Its a problem because they are pushing an agenda on our people to think we like that shit when the majority of people don't. Also, there's plenty of other roles our people can be in but those CACs don't want to see a black man in them.

Right, that's all i'm saying, some people make decisions being desperate and years later regret it.

I believe Katt about that rape scene. Maybe it was suppose to be funny .
And Cube talking about the money, fuck that cheap B.A.N.
Right, because most of them said they hardly made any money when that friday movie was made after it was top box office movie back then.

This was a great interview. I’m surprised my attention span was good enough to listen through the entire interview.

The comment section is wild, folks are saying, “Katt doesn’t lie,” and “He’s been telling truth for decades.”

I have no idea if EVERYTHING he said was true, but from and entertain standpoint, this episode delivered.
