Katt Williams purchased a former military base in Alabama to build his own movie studio

The Tweet alleges Katt Williams bought a 90-acre former military base in Alabama.

When did he buy the base? What is the history of the military base? Where in Alabama is the base located? How much did he pay for the base? Is this one of those Mesothelioma bases?

The property, thought to be the Cold War-era barracks at Fort McClellan in Anniston, had been listed for $1.5 million.

Public Health Issues

In 2016, a group of former service veterans from Fort McClellan compiled original environmental engineering sources papers that strongly indicates that the Fort was a former remote test location for the Chemical Weapons experiments program out of Edgewood, Maryland and the former Biowarfare Germ Program out of Fort Detrick, Maryland.

Fort McClellan was also the site of open air burn pits that were used in staging the CBRNE tests around the base until 1975. Potential exposures could have included, but are not limited to, the following: Radioactive compounds (cesium-137 and cobalt-60) used in decontamination training activities in isolated locations on base; Chemical warfare agents (mustard gas and nerve agents) used in secret military experiments and CBRNE field tests on the troops without ever warning them; friable indoors asbestos pollution inside the barracks buildings which all required remedial cleanup actions; a (TCE) SuperFund contamination site at the Anniston Army Depot where commuter workforce veterans worked who were living at the barracks at Fort McClellan; and full-face exposures to CS Riot Control gas for military qualifying classes

Yikes!!!

Is he gonna ask people for donations for over ten years to build the studio and then ask black people to work for free. Then, turn around and get upset when they say no.

Why would he need to do that? He could just level the building that are they now that he can't use then allow movies/tv shows to use it for on location shooting then use that $$$ to build out. Or can partner with existing black producers like Will Packer & others.

You must not know Katts background ... born wt paper

It was an Umar joke....

Sounds like Fort McClellan. It was the Chemical Corps HQ back in the day. I worked over there with the US Fish & Wildlife Service a few years back when they took over some of the property. He's gonna need some serious money to make this place viable. Its not like Fort MacPherson in Atlanta where all the infrastructure was in place.

That’s what I’m talking about. Why wait on or ask the devil to include you in his shit? U get much respect when u get your own shit!

Like in that Do The Right Thing movie. Sal told Bugging Out to get his own pizzeria.

Niggaz need to stop waiting on the devil to change cause he ain’t.

According to the 2020 Census: Anniston, Alabama is 48% Black...

Alabama offers a 25% rebate on state taxes to help filmmakers offset production costs. But if they hire Alabamians for the work, that rebate is 35%. The incentive is capped at $20 million each year. By hiring local, the production saves the expense of bringing in people from outside the state and paying for their lodging and other expenses. And on top of that, they get a greater rebate on what they spend here.

Toxic as fuck , but also very profitable work for a well intentioned Black owned haz mat contractor.

Opportunity over complaints in 2024.

Get your money up Black men.

I’m concerned about the area. Anniston was populated in the 70s/80s with people because McClellan was open. They mostly left with the place closed. There was some racists in that area as well. They obviously didn’t leave. Black people going there for jobs might find some issues.

I thought Fort Mcclellan in Anniston was being used as an incinerator to get rid of nuclear weapons. How did they change that?

great move in so many ways. this is what we as a people need to do more of buy property instead of stupid nigga trincketts like jewlery and cars
That is true. But usually where blacks own property it still has been ruled by whites in the past. To many of us are still being locked up and they try to make sure you never own anything including yourselves.
If there is no black house then we should not be bowing down to a white house. But we are forced to. The two main ways to control somebody mine is money and fear. But fear is the greatest form of mind control there is. They used it to keep our ancestors in check.

Fort Mcclellan was a hustling spot at one time. The alcohol and cigarettes were bought there in large amounts to sell in other parts. Seems like they keep figuring out how to stop the smaller people from hustling. Bootlegging has become a thing of the past.
