His career will be fine? No it won’t

I mean, if you consider his fan base is mostly (white) women...... and white men..... he'd probably still have nominal success

Will that "Drake Pack" hit the same.....?

Nah, black people drive culture and give the music industry it's pulse.

so if we give him the cold shoulder, he'll continue to drop songs, they'll debut at #1 or top 5 and then immediately drop off like the past 6 months has gone.....

But compared to most artists, he'd still be "successful," but compared to his earlier self, that fall off will seem epic.

This may just be the push he needs to find other endeavors and stay more behind the scenes and leave music alone for a few - five years then they again

Will he be seen as a rat is gonna be interesting? Tekashi got a couple features after he snitched from people like Akon and Nicki but that 2nd album after he testified got NO ONE. Drake is a bigger artist and the court shit wasn't criminal so it's gonna be interesting to see who wants to hop on tracks with him still or will he be seen as brand toxic?

On another note, what if it comes out that Drake's "Stimulus Package" was only because UMG boosted the songs he got featured on? I don't think Drake should take this all the way to court. Discovery could kill his career. Ak, I know you lurk here, please talk to your friend.

What label is bigger than UMG?! They dominate like 32% of the market themselves

These numbers are from 2023, but Warner was 15%, Sony was 22% Independent labels were just under 31%

So any "Major" he goes to won't have the budget that Universal has..... he could go the Independent route like Ye..... but like Joe and Ice pointed out Ye has/had Yeezy and other ventures

Drake's other venture don't really gain traction....
Who's rushing to get some Nike/OVO Air Rat 25s now? The demand is nothing like Ye's....

Withdraw the lawsuit and just sit your ass down somewhere for a year or two Aubrey! This shit IS EMBARRASSING!

*what if he can't afford to not be "up" all the time? That image costs.....what if there's really something there just below the surface as to why he had to continue touring even after saying touring was detrimental to his health? What if someone/ something else is even more detrimental?........

Gunna got love after coming home. It's interesting to see what happens now that Thug is home.....

I think that's what the industry is really waiting on. If Thug will get back in the studio with Gunna. If tha happens then everyone else will come around, except Lil Baby....... that was foul

Someone, may have been Joe, made a really good point about UMG feeling compelled to continue to push anything Drake put out because all of his old stuff saw bumps too. Like any new song that goes crazy will have a trickle down effect on all of his old music. He gets a top ten song and now older songs are back on the charts. If he goes to Warner or Sony all of the old song bumps still go to UMG so why tf would Warner/Sony care to go as hard for him as UMG?

True.

Drake's gonna have to beat the stigma of being a bitch though. The state brought Thug to court. But Drake is the state in his case. He's the person filing the charges.

Still can't believe this is where we are. This is not what Biggie meant when he said, "You never thought that hip-hop would take it this far"

Joe definitely said that and that's a great point as well!

When UMG makes X $100 mil deals that's included, they get residual increases in their back catalog.

Warner/ Sony would be fools to offer him $400+ million, what just for UMG to get free $$$$ on back catalog.....?

Nah, unless there is a particular dollar amount or metric Drake is trying to reach to own his own catalog finally......

Gunna had back to back shows at MSG, was at the BET awards no security and had a decent performing album all after coming home....

No one "touched" him.

I saw some of what Lil Baby said, but what has Thug said officially?

Especially since part of his probation was the ability to have communication with Gunna.

Why would he need security . Thug said he will never work with him again , his own kids have a diss song at Gunna
