I never considered the part about c walking after her sister was murdered by a crip. Serena has done that for awhile but in that specific context it's a very fair criticism. I can't even understand how she could justify that if it's accurate.

BUT every criticism I have heard from SMART SINCERE people I feel is valid and I agree with also.
I get the sound thing. The set list. The energy. The smallness. The drake exhaustion.
All that is valid.
But saying it was mid? Or wack?

A lotta people don't like West Coast music.
They like Kendrick, because Kendrick has his own sound that's all Kendrick. And not specifically a West Coast sound.
But they don't like West Coast music and GNX was a West Coast album.
I can definitely agree on the set list, a lotta people didn't hear the songs that they wanted and that disappointed.
As I mentioned in my previous post, GNX is a West Coast album and everyone doesn't like West Coast music.
They wanted to hear vintage Kendrick, not songs off of GNX. And if they didn't like the songs, then they definitely weren't gonna like the performance.
I wanted Kdot to do maad city, bitch dont kill my vibe, money trees, with alright, tv off, not like us, squabble up, peek a boo and i would have been great!!! but the message, imagery, blackness, depth, of the performance was amazing!!!
I think the set list was more akin to the story that he curated moreso than what the crowd would generally enjoy. It's the art moreso than the enjoyment from my perspective and I enjoyed the way it played out. I too generally would've liked to hear a few other songs, especially stuff off of section 80 and GKMC, but those songs may not have played to the story as much as what he chose. So I'm not mad of it, I thought it was enjoyable and skillfully done.
That's the thing with Super Bowl performances. Artists don't usually perform most of the material from their newest album they perform the classics.
And that's why many were disappointed.
