It is much worse than I thought, if you read the letter from the attorney representing the plaintiffs, who is a prominent black federal judge. Something like this coming from the left is dangerous. This will just inflame companies to engage in racist employment practices, knowing they have racial cover on the bench. I have seen personally the damage these clowns can do which can make things dangerous for you.

She wasn't helping any unknown black plaintiffs per Washington Post.

Symbolism and it's probably going to work and she'll get in, we're too divided and generations of SBF's have caused this. We can only blame ourselfves for not protecting our community, it's a wrap at this point, go for self and be the best you can, you'll need to.

Manchin Backs Jackson as Democrats Unite Behind Confirmation
The support of the centrist from West Virginia shows that Democrats are unifying behind Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination in the face of strong Republican opposition.

“Judge Jackson’s record and career are exemplary,” Senator Joe Manchin III, Democrat of West Virginia, said in a statement on Friday

WASHINGTON — Senator Joe Manchin III said on Friday that he would vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court, signaling that Democrats are uniting behind her after a bruising set of hearings that showed deep opposition by Republicans.

The backing of Mr. Manchin, a centrist Democrat from West Virginia and a crucial swing vote, appeared to all but ensure Judge Jackson’s confirmation. Mr. Manchin’s support was critical, since all 50 Senate Democrats may be needed to approve her nomination, given that few if any Republicans appear ready to support her in a vote that Democrats hope to hold early next month.

Mr. Manchin had previously said that he would be willing to support a Biden administration nominee with a more liberal perspective than his, but he had not specifically said he would vote for Judge Jackson until he dispelled any question of his intentions with a statement on Friday.

“After meeting with her, considering her record, and closely monitoring her testimony and questioning before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week, I have determined I intend to vote for her nomination to serve on the Supreme Court,” Mr. Manchin said.
Some conservatives tried to put pressure on him to oppose Judge Jackson, pointing to what they claimed was a record of leniency in sentencing child sex offenders and charging that she was a liberal activist on abortion rights — which Mr. Manchin opposes — transgender rights and matters of race. But Democrats and others debunked the sentencing claims as distorted, and Mr. Manchin seemed to dismiss them as well.

“Judge Jackson’s record and career are exemplary,” he said. “Her wide array of experiences in varying sectors of our judicial system have provided Judge Jackson a unique perspective that will serve her well on our nation’s highest court.”

Democratic colleagues in the Senate had anticipated that Mr. Manchin would get behind President Biden’s Supreme Court pick, but several said this week that they had not heard from him definitively and were awaiting his decision. Mr. Manchin’s opposition could have potentially derailed the nomination, as it did this month when he blocked the appointment of Sarah Bloom Raskin to the Federal Reserve.

You think she should have approved the settlement, even though it meant black folks, including future employees, would be bound by it and wouldn't be able to sue for future discrimination? That is my understanding of the settlement, but I haven't been following this closely,

I think she knew she can't help too many black folks because if she did she wouldn't be nominated now, she knows how to play ball and who knows who would have counter-sued...

THe problem is any lawsuit that takes place after this wouldn't have the stroke and manignitude that this one previously had, I think she played it safe and denied the suit mostly for other opportunities.

Exactly...no black person makes it this far helping black people. She had to play the game to make it this far like Kamala,Obama etc.. Why this is so hard to understand for bgol I will never know.

It's a powerful thing to fuck one group of people and sleep with another., it's a privilege that usually upper class blacks have.

KBJ was protecting the rights of Black employees to sue, where the settlement was attempting to preemptively deny any future discrimination settlements from Black employees up front. FUCK THAT. She made the right call.

This was already debunked but some cats feel the need to Ted Cruz level troll at this point.

Even bringing up, why didn't she entertain MAGA Senator Blackburn by defining what a woman was?

The FUCK?

Interestingly, for people who advocate never voting and not caring about government, they're ALL up in this bitch

A U.S. Park Police officer said he was demoted and then fired by the agency because he is Black. A Bureau of Land Management employee accused managers at the agency of hostile treatment because she is Black. A pharmacist at a Washington hospital claimed he was dismissed from his job because he is Black.

Ketanji Brown Jackson, President Joe Biden's nominee to become the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, presided as a federal trial court judge in all three of these cases involving claims of racial discrimination. She ruled against all three plaintiffs

Read it again......if that settlement brokered by Clemens would have been approved THERE WOULD HAV NOT BEEN ANY OTHER LAWSUITS.

That was the point in not agreeing to the settlement.

This is a black federal judge, prominent, who had personal dealings with her. There are alot of people that PM on BGOL, begging me to tell them truth.

He was a lawyer who depended on a bad settlement.

I asked you in the other thread why didn't he take it to trial ?

Why didn't he see it was a bad settlement because it would prevent other black employees not of that class to lose their rights to sue ?

It was a bad settlement overall even if it was good for his clients

And how did the Alabama courts treat black plaintiffs while he was the chief judge?

Why can''t those asking you for the truth read instead of depending on half stories that fit an agenda ?
