Off the rip, unless you have a secondary bank account, it seems like the only way to deposit cash is to use Greendot. They charge a $5 fee and it doesn't show up in your account until 2-3 days. Other than that you have direct deposit.

I've banked black for 3 years using OneUnited. I didn't deposit cash a lot but when I needed to, it was a pain in the ass. I'd either have to give it to a friend and have them CashApp me or find the one ATM in all of Baltimore that allowed it and get there before 3 PM on weekdays. Only reason I put up with it for that long was because I didn't deposit cash that often. Maybe like once or twice every 8 months or something. I switched to a local black bank for a year after that just so I could deposit cash but they had their own set of problems so I'm with Navy Federal now.

I know it's early for Greenwood, but not having any ATMs to deposit cash/checks kinda gives me pause. But if everybody else can live without it then by all means.

They have an iOS app currently in TestFlight and an Android App. They offer a $5 a month upgrade that'll give you a black metal card, access to luxury hotels, resort portfolios and Mastercard Golf packages (whatever that is). Don't know if I can go back to a standard account after upgrading so I'll fall back on that for now. They do have Apple Pay and I think they have Android Pay.

They lock price protection, ID theft reimbursement insurance and some other stuff behind that paywall too. I'm not really feeling that. Sounds like I need to pay $5 a month to have access to shit that other banks offer for free* (granted sometimes banks will deny your claim, but it sounds like if you didn't pay the $5 then they won't even look at your claim. I could be wrong. I normally use my credit card for transactions anyway).

They give you the option to round your transactions up to the nearest dollar. The difference is then donated to UNCF, NAACP, Goodr, & King Center. Sounds like a good idea on paper. I wonder if we'll be able to write that off at the end of the year.

My card is in the mail.

Yeah looks like I'm gonna give I few years before I open an account. Hopefully by then they'll have all the features ready. And issues ironed out

Agreed. But thank you for the run down and in a few years will consider some of their products

Damn. I don't get the need to lie and market Greenwood the way the video claims they went about marketing. Just tell the people your partners and why you felt or feel that connection will lead to our next step. If there's an "our" consideration in the venture. Sad all around.
