Eva Longoria revealed this week that she and her family have moved out of the “dystopian” United States, now splitting theirvtime between Mexico and Spain.
“I had my whole adult life here,” Longoria told Marie Claire of the U.S. “But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to shit on California — it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”
The Desperate Housewives actress cited the election as one reason for the finality of her conviction. “The shocking part is not that he won,” she said of Donald Trump‘s victory last week. “It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.
“If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place,” she said. Longoria also took a second to recall Trump’s 2016 win, when she said, “I’ve never been depressed in my life.
“It was like, ‘Does my vote really matter? Am I really making a difference?’” she says. “I was so untethered to the core of what I believe because I truly believed in my soul that the best person wins. And then that happened, and I was like, ‘Oh, wait. The best person doesn’t win.’”
Longoria went on to acknowledge that she is “privileged” to be able to make the decision to move away. “I get to escape and go somewhere,” she said. “Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”

The actress now lives with her husband, José Bastón, and their son, 6-year-old Santiago, in Mexico and Spain. She often ends up elsewhere in Europe and South America for work but doesn’t frequently return to Los Angeles.
Elsewhere in the profile, Longoria spoke about her upcoming 50th birthday. “For me, age is just a number, but I’m excited,” she said. “I refuse to believe my greatest success is behind me.”

Few people in the world will slide for Donald Trump like Elon Musk. Jennifer Lopez called out the President-Elect for his comments on Puerto Ricans, and Musk replied by calling her out for not “warning” people about her ex-boyfriend, Diddy.
The X owner (formerly Twitter) joined Joe Rogan on his popular podcast and held nothing back. “J.Lo was like [Diddy‘s] ex-girlfriend, and now all of a sudden, she’s warning people about Trump,” he stated. “How many people did she warn about Diddy? Oh, zero. Maybe we shouldn’t trust her opinion.”
He continued, broadening his criticism to the entire industry. “People in the music entertainment industry had to know that Diddy was, like, abusing, you know, kids basically, and yet they still fed him kids,” he said. “Where’s the accountability?”
Jennifer Lopez shared her thoughts on Donald Trump‘s Madison Square Garden rally, specifically the comedian who called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage,” during a Kamala Harris campaign rally last month, per CNN. “He reminded us who he really is and how he really feels,” she said. “It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day. It was every Latino in this country, it was humanity and anyone of any decent character.”
J. Lo hasn’t said anything about Diddy, but her name has come up a lot throughout this last year of his allegations and arrest. Ojani Noa, her ex-husband, claimed that she was involved in Puff’s “freak offs” that came up in his federal indictment. “I’M NOT ON THE LIST,” he wrote on Instagram. “To those people and media outlets asking if I ever went or participated in that Piece of Sh*t (DIDDY’S) Freak-Off Parties. No and No. Never. But my Ex-Wife (Jennifer Lopez) a.k.a (JLO) Did.. Ask Her.”
Suge Knight believes that Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage fell apart because Homeland Security informed him that she was on the tapes that they found. “It’s a white man who got respect in the white world,” Knight said on his podcast Collect Calls.
