Hope he breaks the record
I like when records are broken. But, I'm not sure how I feel about this one.

Kareem played in an era where hand checking was allowed, and teams/individuals would play tougher defense. To me, it's "easier" to score today. I'm not saying that its easy to score for everyone; but, the scoring advantage goes to the players who play today.

Kareem was 7'2 and shot over his opposite shoulder...and was as proficient with the skyhook as curry is with 3 point shooting. With that combo he SHOULD have the most points. The fact that other big men his size and dominance didn't develop their own skyhook is a question. Imagine if Shaq had that....he would have broken Kareem's record 20 years ago.

So for Lebron to do it and not be as tall is truly an accomplishment.

Kareem has always been standoffish and mostly to himself.
Never seeks the spotlight.
If I'm not mistaken his sold most of his memorabilia a while back stating that it didn't mean that much to him anymore.
He is on record saying he hopes LeBron breaks his record.
One more nugget, Kareem only had one 3 pointer for his entire career.

Interesting perspective.

Let me ask you this. What if Kareem played today? Would his numbers be much higher or lower? Versus, Lebron playing back then when defenses were tougher... would his numbers be higher or lower in your opinion?

Whose stopping that shot today??? Mind you ALOT of those skyhooks are from midrange.

Today with spread floor spacing and softer defense Kareem would probably have more...remember Kareem played 21 seasons in the NBA, and amassed 38,387 points AND Kareem Abdul-Jabbar buried 1 three-pointer in his career! :scream::scream::scream:

Lebron has made 2,207 Threes in his career so far in roughly the same about of time.

Kareem didn't like his teammates so he damn sure ain't gonna like Lebron and the players who played after him!

I wouldn't even be worried about it if I was Lebron.

The record's been around almost 40 years, apparently it ain't that easy to score!

But I get what you're saying.

when he appeared on the cover of jet magazine with his wife who happend to

be white.. I mean aint nothing wrong, but it was just at a time when I was saying,

how bruhs love sisters, and this sister was telling me, thats only

untill we make it, then we dont want nothing to do with them..

and she said even Kareem Abdul Jabbar, had a white wife, and I lost a bet

saying he didnt, so I was salty Ever since...LOL

but in retrospect... people love who they love...

and as long as its real thats all that matters...

I dont agree with his coonish views,

but I understand at his age, he aint tryin

to be struggling...

lots of these old heads just give in when they get a certain

age...

I wont be one of them..

TRUST... I couldve been running companies all over the caribbean

for a fortune 3 company...

but I will never pay that price to do it!!!

the price I wouldve had to pay I wouldnt be able to

sleep at night..

many could, just so they could look down on people...

I rather take the long scenic road to bliss..

and I made the right choice...

Nothing like getting there with your soul

and integrity intact..

MF named Kareem but your wife.....is white? Like Snow White? Or White like the African continent white? Snow White? Ok. FOH

What did he do that bron hasn't? Regarding social issues.
He build a school? Empower those around him to be moguls in any way?
That nigga was arrogant as fuck & treated people shitty when the cameras wasn't on.

He has written several books about African American history. I also remember him producing a documentary on the Harlem Rens basketball team that was really good.
He also has a weekly blog about social issues. It may not compare to building a school, but he has contributed in his own way. He has given LeBron props for creating the school. It's good that both of them are doing their part.

Kareem has some strong views, and he's not always wrong. He does, however, seems to overthink things, but he has always been like that, which led him to be reserved and somewhat aloof over the years. To be fair, he has really worked on his image, especially towards the end
Damn, I remember when they were using those reasons not to make him a coach. He was trying hard to be one.

If Kareem didn't play what, 4 years of college ball nobody would catch him.
You take away Lebrons 3 pointers ...something Kareem rarely attempted and you'd have to subtract over 6k points. In fact let's take away everyone's 3 point shot down to one ( Kareem only made one in his career).. no one is touching his record.
