He was looking gaunt in the latest Star Trek movie, I knew he did not have much time unlike Shatner who hasn't lost a step.
One of the episode on TNG was inspirations for my work about the Universe which I will be publishing soon. I think I am ready. They tried to jump the gun and put some it in the last two movies.
I kinda figured this was coming. He just looked bad. It was sad to see how bad his eyes looked. I know he was in his 80s but still...
Even in that state and with his voice weakening you could still tell that his mind and personality were as sharp and crisp as ever.
I had heard about him being sick just recently like a week ago or so and then I think last year he had a real bad run with some type of illness.
He was my favorite character in the entire franchise. I'm an old OG Star Trek fan anyway. But his character specifically I could always relate to personally even as a child. His character reflected a lot of my own personality.
The new young guy is cool in the movie reboots and all that but in NO WAY does he have Spock's charm or warmth. His character does not have Mr. Nimoy's likeableness or depth. But then again with JJ Abrams version NONE of those new characters have any depth at all. None of them.
Anyway I don't want to get deep into all that and rehash that debate.
Sad news. RIP
