what other rappers have had a major hit in the 80s ,90s , and 2000’s? Who else when people said he was washed up roasted the best so called battle MC of the time? He ended Canibus’s career. Who got a catelog like him?

Canibus ended Canibus career with a wack album

2nd round knockout killed LL

and having longevity doesn't mean shit. Who has listened to anything LL has put out in the past 15 years? I can still listen to Kool G Rap in 2019.

and plenty of rappers have better catalogs.

bragging about writing for Ronnie Devoe and Teddy Riley, really?

I swear I don’t know what some of y’all was dong back in the day. LL writing MC Lyte’s verse for Self Destruction was well known. That shit was common knowledge. I guess it needs to be repeating for the people in the cheap seats or the younger generation who hears her verse. Her verse of Self Destruction was iconic and I think everyone knows the verse. With that said, go ahead and keep repeating so people know how great he is.

I remember hearing “Radio” for the first time. I can tell you exactly where I was and what I was feeling as a 11 year old. My cousins on the Eastern Shore of MD played it for me and I was like wow! I didn’t know rap could sound like that. You have to excuse me I was living in Great Britain before that, so it was amazing to hear rap like that. It was hardcore for back then and it definitely changed the game. LL Cool J...greatest of all time!

Ironically he was blasted during that era for his perceived lack of black consciousness.

Not only was he booed at a Yusef Hawkins rally, he was called out by KRS himself for skipping out on the H.E.A.L. video.

You can't minimize what LL has done in his career. He set the template for what a hip hop superstar is. There's no DMX, Jay-Z, Nelly, etc. without LL. And that's just talking music, his work on television and film is another major accomplishment in itself.
