Brother just turned 28, and started to develop noticeable "Man boobs"

it seems to be a very common thing especially as you get older! seriously can anyone shed some "constructive" things i can do to combat this embarrassing problem?

Get a recumbent exercise bike (anything less than $300 is a piece o' shit. If you're well over 200 lb. you should probably spend twice that much... which is still cheap compared to a gym. And, you aren't going to catch MRSA off your own exercise bike.)

You can study, work, talk on the phone etc. whilst riding a recumbent exercise bike. I'm up to 90 min. / day on mine.

please explain? not only for me,, but the "others" out there with the same problem that are secretly listening!

5'11 @ 190.
virtually this is overweight, but technically it might not be.
in order to properly assess your fit level, you need to gather information of your bf%.
if you have no means of utilizing such measuring instruments, you're more than welcome to send me pics of yourself.
i don't need your full body, just a bust will suffice.
from there i can tell you whether you have gyno or not.
don't worry about me posting your pic, i'm not like the others here trying to ock.

something else that comes to mind, the fact that you're now starting to notice this condition of possible gynecomastia leads me to believe that you're just letting your body go.
usually gyno starts during puberty and in some cases go away when you get into your adulthood.

question, have you ever used any performance enhancing drugs such as steroids?

thanks for that incredible revelation. But sometimes with the amazing amount of information available on the Internet, it can be more effective to post such a question like this on a board full of males and African-Americans.Besides some of the jokes i have learn to respect BGOL when it comes to getting some good information on a variety of subjects.

No steroids as i mentioned.Just "one-a-day" multivitamins and less working-out and a lot more sitting (studying) than i'm use too. I typically drink lots of water, stay away from sweet candy, soda, chips etc.. surprised to hear 5'11 @190, is considered overweight!

Absolutely. Recumbent bikes are dope.

We had one at our gym but they replaced it with a regular upright stationary. Both are good though. I usually put in 50 - 75 on the recumbent, or go heavy/strong on the stationary upright for 40 - 52 mins. Good shit. Burns IMMENSE CALORIES ... we're talking well over 700 +, 800 + ... and you're pedalling MANY MILES in equivalency.

I decided to buy my own because I was increasingly getting skeeved out by the idea of getting a MRSA infection at the gym. From my perspective, the recumbent is a lot more comfortable than the upright, especially when you're riding for more than an hour straight. It's also easier to read or work* using the computer on a recumbent bike.

And yes, once you get your time up in the +45 minute range, you burn an insane amount of calories, and it's not a chore because you're occupied with other things.

* I have a laptop stand similar to this thing.
But, I usually use it with my wireless keyboard and mouse when I'm riding the bike.

you have two options, you can either submit a bust snapshot image via pm or find out what your bf% is.
please do not guess what your bf% is if you're going to go this route.

because either you'll have to lose bf%, have gyno surgery or live with those breast.

With this i agree to some extent. However outside of the cracks and jokes, their are alot of knowledge people on BGOL.In addition where can you go and find sharp black-men, versed in "any" subject you can name at any time?

Furthermore, one has to be selective with the "advice" your given. It's plausible to be able to weed-out the garbage. Honestly though, I wish more people would use this outlet, as is generally the case, we as minorities have a extremely bad habit of keeping it "real", being quite while certain kinds of problems, eat our asses up. I am not one of those individuals, i don't know everything and I'm proud and humble to know my limits and have no problem expressing them nor seeking help to grow beyond them.

If seeking this "health" help is considered a "wrong" thing to ask my Fam, then we still have a long long long way to go! Finally i find comments like yours, only aide in perpetuating ostracism. One day i seriously hope we learn to stop being so divisive, we continually hurt our own overall progress!

You're making excuses and you're fooling yourself.

Man with tits isnt common. And 28 isnt old or "older".

Get your diet in order and hit the gym. If you cant hit the gym go buy a jump rope and do some fuckin push ups. That shits unacceptable man. And your attitude is disgusting.

positive reinforcement.....fat, lazy ppl need this..real talk :lol:

If it truly is gynecomastia, odds are that you wouldn't just be noticing it at the age of 28. Typically gynecomastia develops during or immediately after puberty. You should ask your doctor about it during your next check up. If it is gynecomastia, you'll have to have surgery to get rid of it or just live with it.

take yo fat ass to the gym on your new bicycle.

could be just fat or could be gyno aka gynecomastia which is when males actually develop some organ parts in the breast - that shit will only go away by surgery
if your bodyfat is low and you still have titties go see a doctor

I'm happy you see my point. While I'm strong enough to take the jabs with my problem, there are many that frequent, post etc on the board that have issue far beyond mines and would truly like a "positive" outlet to address them. Unfortunately, their are "many" poster out there that would much rather crack jokes constantly,i assume not realizing the long term damage they can inflict! On the Contrary, if they do have an idea, then its even sadder, because it shows jokes are far more important than helping someone! More-so, it shows they honestly don't realize how special and powerful this place we all frequent truly is!
