I like how they got straight into the movie within the first 10 minutes and not some long drawn out catch up story.

There is SO much space between now and Kang Dynasty...they have to start bee lining these movies STRAIGHT to the main MCU story. Thats why I, for one, was glad that Luis was not in this movie. Weve have two comedy Antman movies. Now its time for something to move the stories along.

The movie was okay, but it could have been so much better. Majors really carried the movie.
Given who Kang is, and what this will lead to, the movie should have had a "He HAS to be stopped" FEEL to it. They said the words, but it just never felt the way it should have.
Jokes in and of themselves aren't the problem, it's the quality of the jokes and the timing.
I never once smiled during this movie, Love and Thunder, Wakanda Forever, or any of the recent Disney plus shows. The jokes flat out aren't funny imo. Thor calling Rocket sweet rabbit in Infinity War STILL makes me laugh when I think of it. If the jokes are actually funny, they become less of an issue.
Timing is also key. Joking interrupts the sense of urgency. The more you do it, the less it feels like trillions of lives are at stake.
During the final battle alone, they cracked joke after joke after joke.
The don't be a dick joke, the multiple jokes when lang hugged his daughter, the joke when lang was super big and was talking about our word is our bond, the joke about MODOK and lang being friends, the joke about the liquid character finally getting holes, etc.

I don't recall any jokes in Wakanda Forever and I just watched it a few days ago. Was it when Julia Louis-Dreyfuss's character was on screen?

The scene when Shuri and Okoye went to riri's dorm room was full of jokes. Talking about Okoye's ashy head.
When the French tried to steal vibranium and the dora stopped them, the lesbians joked about the weapon (knives i believe) that one of them used.

I do remember the ashy head joke now that you mention it. It wasn't bad and there's no way to seriously say that movie had too many jokes. That's comic relief in a movie otherwise focused on loss and vengeance.
