i blame all this on disney plus. its just too saturated with shows now. it was fun watching movies then the anticipation of the next one months down the line tying it all together. now there's 2-4 shows on disney plus then a movie month later. i don't have time to keep up with all that. and with all these shows and movies you're gonna get bad writing and lackluster characters. bad decisions like not recasting killing iron man, not recasting tchalla and keep pushing ms marvel has just made me meh on it all. i haven't watched ant man, secret wars or loki yet. i'm hoping i haven't reached my jumping off point like i did star wars.
And they are blowing thru money with these shows .

I never felt the need to (nor did I) watch every Marvel movie to stay in the know and I still enjoyed Infinity War and End Game.
Disney's issue seems to be IMO, that they are pushing out shows so quickly to capitalize on the actors while they are still relatively young or popular. But as we've seen with both Spider-Man and Batman, people go because of the characters not the actors. The characters are timeless, they can take their time making and releasing movies.

Don't forget he called Janet " jelly bean" which is completely out of character for kang. Also modok was the main problem with this movie along with the dumb flat humor on Cassie's part. Ant man 3 was nothing but a live action Rick and Morty without the profanity.

So, it comes down to money as it so often does. Gonna have to throw some significant change at them to appear. Not as much as some might think cause their recent projects haven't been great by any stretch.
The Mouse hasn't been able to get Phase...whatever rolling due to superhero fatigue and the movies and TV shows just not being very good. so trying to kickstart the Phase with the old guard makes sense if they cut a few TV shows and use the money to make a transition flic.
We'll just have to wait and see.

There's no way in the world they could have recast Chad. None. People would have stayed away in droves.
Now that we know he has a son they can cast a new actor in the role. I've been saying all along the role should go to Regé-Jean Page.

Recasting is not a new concept. Nor would it have been disrespectful to Chad. He seemed like such a magnanimous person. Not the kind that would want a role to die with him. He was about black folks getting acting jobs. He would want another brother to carry on the role. Especially considering his background was theater. The whole concept of the understudy is a recast of sorts. I guess from the perspective of anti-recasters, when James Earl Jones,Denzel Wasn't and Billy Dee Williams go on to glory,the play 'Fences' should never be performed again on stage or screen. Since the lead role of Troy Maxson is an iconic black role I guess many would think it disrespectful to let anyone play it again. Where does the misplaced logic end?

Also, they've been teasing Kang for years now, and we're still not close to a real movie with him in it. Marvel and these decade long tease outs are ridiculous.
I never found Kang that interesting in the comics. I like Kurt Busiek as a writer,but his 'Avengers Forever' miniseries in the early '00's was a chore for me to read.
Which is even more a reason not to drag this out. Imagine making people wait 10-12 years for you to finally get around to making the movie where all is revealed about Kang, and people say "that's it????"
As hot a property as Pedro Pascal as now,they missed an opportunity. Cast him as the mob boss Count Lucchino Nefaria. Say that Hawkeye's killing spree if criminals as Ronin pissed mobsters the fuck off and the underworld wants revenge on Barton and the superhero community. Nefaria undergoes treatment giving him superpowers. Thus, a variation on the Acts of Vengeance storyline could be done.
