They might have went after Cavill to kill any potential DCEU Superman revival. If so, that's smart. A lot of people liked his Superman (meh). Bringing him back would have made DC fans happy.
Guess now they have no choice but to start from scratch(again..)
Seems like that was the direction they were going in before The Snyder Cut. I thought that might be a bridge to revive what the initially built. Scratch it is.

Why He's So Ruthless: Thanos succeeds at wiping out half of all life, ultimately extinguishing many beloved heroes along the way. He is willing to do anything to achieve his goals, which includes throwing his own daughter off a cliff.
His Most Ruthless Act: Throwing his daughter, Gamora, off a cliff in his quest for the Soul Stone.
Is He Secretly A Softie? Yes. Thanos has a soft spot for his daughter, which is why he is successfully able to attain the Soul Stone. He sees his quest as an act of mercy rather than a brutalization of the universe.

No way those 3 movies are gonna get anybody excited with what Disney is dropping this weekend at D23 and with what is dropping on Disney+ between now and through the end of the year.

But if WB is making the decision to get rid of DC, they can easily sabotage the films to their benefit.
The first thing is release the theatrical version onto the internet a week early from its scheduled release.
This will give plenty of time for the InCells, Homophobes, Militants and other idiots on the internet to view and flood the Net with negative reviews.
This tactic will kill box office sales cuz it will keep folks from going to the theaters.
WB says “It’s A Flop!” and use the sales to justify abandoning the DC property.
Remember, Warner Bros. is a corporation. October 1st they enter their 4th Quarter and close out the year on December 31st. They have to report to Wall Street their profits/loss in order to get their stock price set for 2023.
It ain’t about what fans want, it’s what the Board and Stockholders want. And they want success. The same success Disney is enjoying.
