No it will not lol
He’s not Prime or Eddie George
How exactly do YOU know that? Other than Prime name a player coaching who had the cultural & game impact that Vick had. If you polled folks in high school right now, 99% percent would know who Vick is before George. And George was a damn good running back, but he never gets mentioned in the conversation of game changing or best running backs.

They never saw him play
Niggas don’t fuck with him like THAT. He’s not going to sway a kid going from UVA or VT.
My cousin was drafted to the Falcons to be a compliment to him, and Vick left him high and dry. After speaking with him about it later he let me know what it really is. Mad niggas do NOT respect him
Vick got more respect than you think and will get a lot of kids to join that school to play for him. Vick is a icon on the same level as Iverson from a recognition standpoint. A lot of people know who Vick is from watching him play. It's nice to see another former NFL player become a head coach as a black man which is a position that doesn't come often for black men to coach a team. I wish Vick luck and success as a coach.

Nigga I was a teenager when Vick came on the scene. I witnessed shit first hand. I understand exactly what you’re trying to say. But he ain’t it. Vick is like a rap star. Prime is an OG. Eddie George is structure and discipline. Do you even understand Eddie’s identity as a coach? His philosophy and values? You already know how Deion runs a program. This is completely different from their playing days.
Yes Vick is going to bring a new energy and attract a new level of talent. It will be good for the HBCU scene. But dont our this nigga on Eddie and Deions level. That’s wild disrespectful

Who said anything about him being on his level?

Also, this should be a celebration for Vick getting this job since he came a long way since that dogfighting incident.

These coaching jobs for a black man are rare and not easy.

Besides I hope Eddie can get a coaching job as well. The more black coaches, the better which helps kids understand that they too, can become a coach someday.

High & dry how?
Refused to work with him (and the other WRs) outside of practice. He never studied the playbook so he was never on the same page with a lot of players. He was getting by with his talent and established vets. A lot of niggas didn’t get the chance to develop, because they were brought in for their specific talents, and Vick never allowed them to show it due to how he operated. He said that himself
My cousin was a 2nd generation NFL player so he came in knowing the agenda…but he was pushed away.

Oh goodie for you, you were a teenager when he was drafted..lol I was fucking 33 & able to buy my own tickets to games..lol

Once again you know NOTHING about Vick or how he intends to run the program. Folks were critical of Prime when he got the job, saying he'd be all flash, ego blah blah blah and the program would be in disarray. When George got the job, folks talked about his lack of coaching experience etc. Vick like the other two knows the game & I'm sure he'll also surround himself with a quality staff. White boys with no coaching experience & careers that weren't a fraction of Vick's get jobs all the time & I guarantee you you've never said one word..lol

LOL once again at your last sentence, you sound just like the folks that were shitting on Prime & George when they first got their gigs.

Tons of rookies come into the league in similar situations & some succeed anyway. Who is your cousin, so we can check his stats etc over his career. And tons of receivers work with coaches off season & other vets to sharpen their skills.

Don’t do that , my nigga. I’m not talking down on the man. I love the move.
Im just stopping niggas from talking stupid
If you were one of his dickriders, then cool. But I clearly know more about the man than the average fan
You’re taking this shit in a completely different direction.

Nothing do with dickriding PAUSE. But just like YOU know someone who played with him so do I. Shit several dudes from the neighborhood & surrounding area played in the league.

You're allowing your cousins salty experience influence the lens that you're viewing this through. How many pro athletes no matter the leagues have had similar experience with Vets? Even dudes who been at the top of their leagues & positions have had other players say they were assholes, didn't help etc.

Can't speak on the current state of respect.

But dude being a standout homegrown/757/former NFL player has that in his favor. Plus, 18 year olds have probably seen him play in their lifetime (as oppose to say Neon Deion).

Can he sway recruits from VT and UVA to NSU...? That's a tall order. However, he won't have an issue finding recruits.

Yes he will, NIL means that these PWI colleges are giving kids tens, hundreds of thousands, millions....

It remains to be seen especially with the way the portal is working these days. Plus a lot of these players are finding out that NIL money isn't as good as advertised. Plus he doesn't need "those" players to win at that level, all he needs to do is build a solid team/program and win the games.

Use his contacts to bring in sponsors which will allow the school to build up the athletic facilities.

Just look at FAMU for example they currently have 4 players in the league, which shows if the coaching & program are solid you can sell kids on the prospect of making it to the next level.

But you gotta take the level of competition in mind...

Was NSU attracting 5* recruits before Vick? Doubtful. What about 3* recruits? 2*? Is Vick going to attract 5* recruits? Not likely. Can he attract folks from the mid-level talent pool that aren't get NIL money? Probably. Will this talent be better than what NSU current has? Will it be better than the talent in other MEAC schools?

He doesn't need top level talent to make a splash. He just needs better talent than every other MEAC school. Stack the wins. Add a championship. Stack the recruits.
