4-5 months ago I watched this Mike Tyson fight vs Danny Williams from 2004
This was Mike on his decline, I knew there was no way Mike could beat a strong kid like Jake Paul.
I didn't watch the fight, I didn't want to see Mike get knocked out.
I give Jake Paul his props, he put about 20 Million in Mike's pocket and didn't knock Mike out when a lot of folks thought he could.

If you saw the fight than you saw Tyson just basically stand still or walk slowly around and throw like 8 punches.. Jake throw 20 pitty pat punches.. nothing about this says jake Paul was able to destroy Mike… it was a fast dog running around in circles vs an elephant and touching it with its paw a few times..the end

I still dont care for Jake Paul, but this could be Mike's last big payday. It's like Mike made all of these people money back in the 80s and 90s. It's about time someone looked out for him. It's not like boxing is really lucrative like that these days so to Jake Paul he goes. Jake knows that there are many pro (and amateur fighters for that matter) that can drop him, but he can control the narrative because he knows his worth. He knows that he goes out to fight a Canelo that he will be bringing eyeballs so he can control who gets paid what. It's an interesting case study on what boxing and even MMA could be if all the fighters were treated fairly. As far as the boxing goes, perhaps it was agreed to before hand that Jake would not embarass Tyson or knock him out. If you remember, Tyson got pissed at Larry Holmes because he knocked out Muhammad Ali when he was way past his prime. Now this was a different time, but Ali was Tyson's hero so he came in and destroyed Holmes. Look at what you just said "Props to Jake..." I think Paul gained more respect that anything that not finishing him off. I think it was a win-win for Jake.
As someone else said, Mike's interview now makes sense frim his pt of view. He said fuck a legacy...20 mil is 20 mil.

Actually Mike went full beastmode with the I’m just here so I won’t get fined.. he clearly didn’t give a fuck about that fight and his responses within 24 hrs of that match explained it all.. he trolled that fight and gave that white boy nothing to impress the crowd.. this was a dive but Tyson put zero energy in it and made the audience in the crowd and the viewers at home pissed off at that spectacle.. people are already saying fix and are really doubting this cacs portfolio now.. if anything this really hurts this cacs brand and future revenue. Will anybody really pay to see him fight again is a company like Netflix really willing to give him money again for his fights… this dive left a bad taste in peoples mouth and I think Tyson did this purposely.. like oh you want to embarrass the sport that made people like me legends with your fixed matches well let me join you and give you the most boring fight ever so people will dislike this corny shit.. the real winner was Mike, took that cacs money, made people question this cacs whole exhibition and now having mad people saying Tyson took a dive
I still say this fight was better than the Logan Paul - Mayweather fight. Jake wasn't having to hold up Tyson.
While all this may be true....Jake paul could have knocked him out if he wanted to. Whoever Jake Paul fights next will not be an old man and it may be a legitimate fighter. After Mike, I dont think there are any retired/older fighters that will want to get in the ring and just dance. Looking at Lennox Lewis last night, that dude looks like he could get in about 2 or 3 good rounds and could knock Jake out.

a much more interesting fight....because he don't rely on his legs like tyson, but both cannot
fight a well trained youthful fighter, with leg power.

Crazy thing is, these Jake Paul fights are pure spectacle. Whether the fights are good or not comes secondary to all the pomp and circumstance. It's an event for photo ops, mingling w/ celebs and models, and if you're lucky, you might see a decent fight or two.
