one of the best trilogies ever made hands down. I thought Reloaded was equal to if not better than the original. Revolutions was eh....no suprise that most of it was in Zion (it had to be), silly that people had a problem with that. Then people complained w/ 'too much bullet-time/matrix in Reloaded....??? Yes, some of the writing was terrible (zion rave sequence/love scene is one of the worst scenes ever). How could anyone hate on the highway sequence and/or da smith brawl?? don't get it. as with everything else, when the trilogy didn't turn out the way ppl wanted it to, it just got mad hate. I appreciate the brothers' vision, we won't see anything like that again.

some of you guys are missing what the issue is..

the OP review is bogus for a couple reasons.

1. he admits the sequels are not as good as the first one which is what everyone complains about. Too many characters who go nowhere nor have anything truly interesting to say or do, too many long drawn out action scenes, too many plotholes. If your movie is riddled with that stuff...its not a good movie..

2. if you have to explain it then you fucked up. he talks about the symbolism and subtext but if its not detectable or understandable after viewing then its pointless. Its one thing to have minute detail and easter eggs that you only see after multiple viewings or someone points out. But symbolism and subtext is the point of the story and if people miss that then whats the point? Thats why most people walked out of the theater going WTF?? NO ONE did that with the first movie because it laid out the story pretty straightforward and much of the symbolism and subtext was easy to pick up on.

The wachowskis blew the KISS rule with matrix sequels...plain and simple

Thank you sir, good read. This really puts all the bullshit together in a Colin Powell friendly article. Good luck to this lady, looks like shenannigans was in play by her own lawyers.

One may read reports on the internet that Ms. Stewart won a multi-billion dollar lawsuit when, in fact, she received some funds but not the damages. “The Wachoskis Brothers lost on a default judgment in 2004,” she says. “They never answered the complaint ever.” On June 4, 2012, she won a judgment against her now deceased attorney, Jonathan Lubell (alias Jon Lubell) for failure to appear at a pre-trial conference in December 2011, and failure to appear to show cause in January 2012 causing her to lose hundreds of thousands of dollarSophia Stewart Lawrence Fishburn1 Sophia Stewart: Matrix, Terminator Author Battles Ons in revenue and, more important, causing the dismissal of her $300 million 2003 California lawsuit. Her judgment is for $150 million.

Sophia Stewart pack a lot of Philosophical ideas into the Matrix and unfortunately its over the head of most of the audience. I think the 1st movie is the most popular because its a tried and true Good vs Evil plot line (or so it seems) that everyone can understand. The last two movie begin to show us more shades of grey and less black and white and with that you lose people. Its always a risk when you go down the road less traveled. I give them props for at least trying. Hollywood is the most efficient Bullshit Factory in the history of mankind. Well other than Fox news of course. The fact they made an action movie that makes you think is commendable. Nobody will be analyzing the Taken2 or the Transporter 10 years after they have been released.

An article on her current size. I heard her interview on Zoe Williams and she had me convinced that she could of made a better job of the sequels story arch

Okay hold up wait a minute hold the phone!

I usually blow off this type of stuff as paranoid conspiracy illuminati fodder but this actually sounds legit. This is a horrible case of hollywood with all their billions blowing off a brilliant and legitimate author and writer who also happens to be a black woman and stealing this woman's work and then having the audacity to malign her name and discredit the woman.

That said those 2 movies Terminator and Matrix along with Lord Of The Rings are 3 of my all time favorite action flicks that I watch repeatedly memorizing line by line and scene by scene. That includes the trilogies even if they are not as great as or sometimes greater than the originals.

How could anyone hate on the highway sequence and/or da smith brawl?? don't get it.

BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO FUCKING LONG AND BORING!!!!

the 100 smith fight....when it starts dude you can LITERALLY: get up and go to the bathroom..do number 1..go to your computer and check your email, facebook, twitter and snail mail and voice mail..go make a snack and come back to the TV and their STILL fighting!!

All so neo can just runaway in the end.

The highway chase was good in the beginning but then it just goes on too long as well..

heres a tidbit...notice how they stopped talking about humans as batteries and even kind of back off the whole saving the trapped humans angle as the sequels mainly dealt with zion and the coming conflict.

ever wonder why?? because the human batteries angle was so ridiculous and such a gross plothole that they just quietly stopped emphasizing it even tho it was whole point of the first film.
Shit this economy is built off people as batteries. Why do you think they mad because people survived without a job

Why do people call the Matrix a trilogy when it's actually a quadrilogy (The Matrix, Matrix Revolutions, Matrix Reloaded & The Animatrix)?

Well, a pentalogy now (because of Matrix Resurrections).

The Animatrix is VERY important in understanding the backstory of the entire franchise. I'm actually shocked that they didn't make another one.

Also, I never played the video game but apparently, it also shares some importance in establishing the franchise.

The last matrix wasn’t necessary. Also, if they want to do new versions, they should do prequels on what lead up to the matrix being created
