I'm very happy to say this is a solid movie.

It ain't great but it's not terrible either.
IMHO, it's way better than:
- Thor: Love & Thunder.
- Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness.
- Antman: Quantemania.
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
- The Eternals.

And while I still don't buy Sam Wilson as Captain America, Anthony Mackie continues to provide yet another good performance as the character.
I also believe this could have easily been a solo Falcon movie and had the same results. :dunno:
Love & Thunder was weird. All those other movies and "The Marvels" were good.

Iron Man 3 is up there as a wack movie.

that man won't do it. I'll give him THAT. He still my guy but he be off sometimes.

I did NOT listen to his latest review yet honestly.

I will eventually, But I already know the speech:

"All art is subjective blah bla blah"

"I'm happy for YOU if YOU liked it blah blah blah"

which is fine and TRUE

I just didn't like the NEGAIVE vibes BEFORE this movie even CAME OUT

If you saying he movie sucked for 6 months how you want me to take you serious about any review you give?

And if you sh*t on almost EVER Marvel movie again I can't take you seriously as a reviewer

I am not saying this is a MASTERPIECE

but there was ALREADY an anti-black organized agenda for MONTHS

And I am happy the AUDIENCE is showing we CANNOT take this internet reviewers THAT SERIOUSLY

It was NOT a masterpiece by any means trust me I KNOW that.

But it aint a piece of sh*t like these overwhelmingly WHITE dudes trying to say.
In all the videos I've watched (not just john's) there were people actually pushing back saying that the movie wasn't bad or even mid. Like the the biggest complain I saw was with the CGI. Ray was even saying that he liked the movie. From now until the end of Feb. will tell the tale. We(blacks) need to support this movie and not just wait for it to be posted here.

I understand pirating TRUST me these corporations are destroying their customers with streaming rates and movie ticket prices etc.

BUT we GOTTA support these Black films.

And I say something that makes people laugh but I am not completely joking

REAL EQUALITY?

Is when Black folk can make something just okay and for it to still be successful and be allowed to create MORE.

WE as Black creatives almost NEVER get a second chance or the benefit of the doubt.

But our white counterpoints get AMAZING (unearned undeserved) FIRST opportunities, support, and 3rd and 4th chances to success despite previous failure.

I aint talking DEI I'm talking playing fair.

This is an excellent post. I like the way you think.
Sometimes I wish BGOL was a force and not just a gateway to escape.

I never watched The Marvels.
Aside from seeing Teyonah Parris, I have NO interest in it.
As for the other films, I vehemently disagree with you, but if you enjoyed them, then so be it...:dunno:

Eternals was a damn good movie.
The others were fine except Love and Thunder.

The director did a great job.

What yall mean “Black Widow” vibes?
Ruth is literally a Black Widow. It is stated in the movie.

The director did an amazing job of filming these reshoots. People who were not even in the same room were shot as if they were.

I watched the closing credits and I noticed that there was a "very special thanks to OCTAVIA SPENCER".

Anyone know what that is all about? I would love to know.

I agree. It was a solid movie. It had some flaws, but its flaws were not as big as the flaws in the movies you listed. I def rank it ahead of all of those.

I just got around to watching it today
I thought it was..........decent
Better than what the youtubers & critics were saying though

There was quite a bit of explanation/backstory
Probably for the casual fans who didn't remember...
The Incredible Hulk movie, the Eternals movie, or the Falcon/Winter Soldier tv series

The re-shoots & editing made a few things seem a little disjointed
Like a character would be at one location talking & then...all of a sudden...at a different part of the country/world
Like "hold up bruh, weren't you just talking to so & so in a completely different country"

So like why did it take the characters like half of the movie to figure out that super soldiers can be mind controlled?
So did everyone just forget about...longing, rusted, furnace, daybreak, 17, benign, 9, homecoming, 1, freight car

I had to roll my eyes at the scene where ol girl takes down like 8 big ass dudes damn near by herself
Yeah yeah, I know she's supposed to be part of the black widow society, or something like that
But the chick is like 4 feet tall & can't be more than 75 pounds soaking wet

And then "a certain someone" makes a cameo appearance towards the end & is talking to Cap at a hospital (medical center)
Bruh pops in for like 2 minutes, does a cameo, & then disappears
While Cap is getting his ass kicked by the Red Hulk, just a few minutes later, in the very next scene, right outside the same medical center
Like bruh..... "where did you go...so you're not gonna help ya boy out" :D

The vibe was almost like watching the Kendrick Lamar Superbowl halftime show
It wasn't the best, but it definitely wasn't the worse
He did his thing in some moments (Kendrick & Anthony Mackie)
And you know this is going to piss off some racist CAC's
But overall it was enjoyable

one thing I couldn’t figure out is..yall couldn’t get ruffalo in here? Spent so much time talking about gamma radiation and sam could have done his "i know a guy" thing and called him or something..probably my biggest issue with the movie

Harrison Ford was cool but he's 82... Should have gone younger...

But I wanted to see the comic version that was beating everyone's ass...

Side note: I can see the MCU Thunderbolts* setup now...

Swap out Red Hulk with Bucky to lead a strike team to clean up President Ross's messes...

As part of the 2012 Marvel NOW! relaunch, Red Hulk leads a non-government sponsored version of the Thunderbolts.[2] This incarnation is a strike team that cleans up the messes left by Ross' military career...

Maybe that was the next step once his military guy finds out what the pills were actually doing...

But then everybody would start asking why Bruce didn't fight since he knew and it turns into Hulk vs Hulk...

People were already wondering why Bucky didn't stay to fight....

First Paragraph from Richard Roeper of the chicago sun-times (i liked him after he replaced gene siskel on siskel and ebert)

Sam Wilson now has the shield and we get a Hulk of a different color, but there’s little in “Captain America: Brave New World” that’s particularly brave OR truly new. This is a solid, well-acted, fast-paced adventure with a relatively small-scale storyline — a decidedly mid-level Marvel movie that never comes close to achieving the soaring brilliance of the likes of “Black Panther” or “Avengers: Endgame,” but is a far better work than recent missteps such as “Thor: Love and Thunder,” “The Marvels” and “Eternals.”

I thought the movie was great. Fight scenes were excellent. For someone not taking the serum, he moves pretty good. I don't know if the critics are going to walk back some of their comments but I feel like this will be a win if it can make between 3 and 400 million worldwide. I'm going to go see it again tomorrow. Will probably see it one more time before it's out the theater. We need to let Marvel and the world know that we will support our films. If you can, go to rotten tomatoes and leave a review. I hope this thing gets up to 90% fresh for audience reviews. There's going to be racists that come out and try to trash the movie (one of the youtubers that I used to listen to called it Captain Black America, i unsubscribed and blocked his channel from showing up on my page) so we need to make sure that we "keep it fresh"

Based on the previews, I think I'm going to be setting up mattress and boxspring at the theater in April because there are SEVERAL movies that are coming out. Two of my most anticipated are the Accountant 2 and The Amateur with Rami Malek. Really looking forward to both of those movies.

He didn't even have to fight, he could have just been in his Professor Hulk mode and talked to him over the phone or something. I don't know, they bring back Betsy Ross and we show hulk fighting in NY, we can't even give him 2 to 3 mins of screen time? i'll give it 4.5 stars because of that and the CGI at the end..that Green screen was terrible, but I'm just being picky at this point. Hope that brotha that directed it gets an opportunity to direct more Marvel movies.

I thought it was a good movie. I understood Bucky not staying around. He's got the Thunderbolts coming up. The Hulk in a pill bothered me though. And the midget woman from the Red Room I didn't get the casting for that.
She is only 29 years old.
She is from that movie Unorthodox.
Good movie but dang she aged like shit.

It’s also the fourth-best Presidents Day launch on record following 2018’s “Black Panther” ($242 million), 2016’s “Deadpool” ($152 million) and 2023’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” ($120 million).
