Fast X sneak peek finally reveals what happens after Han confronts Shaw in F9 mid-credits scene

Just ignore the fact that Han's (Sung Kang) hair is magically a lot longer when the F9 scene continues in Fast X.

The only thing more unforgivable than Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) trying to kill Han (Sung Kang) in 2013's Fast & Furious 6? It's Shaw messing with Han's snacks in Fast X. Everyone knows you do not mess with this man's snacks!
Okay, Shaw trying to kill a member of the Fast & Furious crew is still something we're all actively trying to forgive now that he's also kind of become part of the family. However, F9 revealed Han actually used Shaw to fake his own death, and he's alive and well and back with the team. So all's forgiven... right?
Wrong. EW has an exclusive sneak peek at Fast X in which we finally see what happens after Han confronts Shaw in F9's mid-credits scene. It turns out that Han's there — with Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Tej (Ludacris), and Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) too! — just to talk with Shaw about something. Shaw thinks he's really there to get revenge. Why else would a "dead guy" show up at his door?

When Han reaches into his jacket to pull out a bag of snacks, all bets are off. Fists fly, bodies are flipped, and snacks are spilled in the ensuing fight. Watch the exclusive video above now to see how disastrous their reunion gets. (And try to ignore the fact that Han's hair is magically a lot longer now than when this scene began in F9.)
Fast X director Louis Leterrier knows that fans have waited long enough to see "justice for Han" in the Fast & Furious franchise. And after Han's resurrection in F9 didn't lead to him getting any kind of revenge on Shaw for his presumed death, the director promises justice is finally coming in this movie.
"Justice for Han was teased in the previous movie, but justice for Han is given in this one," Leterrier tells EW. "I wanted this moment to be so special. That's something I was missing [in the last movie]. They are mortal enemies and it was teased at the end of the last one, so what greater way to truly bring justice to Han than have your battle royale between these two iconic characters? They're fantastic. You'll see. It's really fun and special."

Fast X races into theaters May 19.

To my understanding, before Paul Walker died, he and Vin Diesel discussed how long the franchise should go and they said it should stop at 10. So Fast X is supposed to be the last movie, but these greedy bastards are chopping it into 2 separate movies. Not to mention, they'll probably do some type of spin-off that is not related to The Rock's character, because he and Vin Diesel are still beefing.

Just looking at how cartoonish Jason Mamoa is in the trailers and how much of the plot is given away, I'm not in any rush to see this installment. In fact, I haven't really be interested in seeing these movies in the theaters since Fast 7.

Then there's also going to be that all-female spinoff w/ Brie Larson(and possibly Michelle Rodriguez and Helen Mirren)

Why Fast X director brought the action back down to Earth for the beginning of the end

"I love the Fast & Furious movies with international espionage and going to space and everything, but that's not why I watch these movies," Louis Leterrier tells EW.

After literally going to space in F9, how could the Fast & Furious franchise possibly keep getting bigger?! That's the inherent problem Fast X director Louis Leterrier faced when he took the wheel of the saga.
"What could I do? Time travel?" Leterrier tells EW. "There's nothing I could have done that's bigger than that. There's no way. They went to space, so I was like, 'Let's bring it back to Earth.'"

Instead of going bigger, Leterrier (who has also signed on to direct the upcoming 11th installment, which was previously said to be the final film in the saga) decided to take the franchise back to its roots. "I love the Fast & Furious movies with international espionage and going to space and everything, but that's not why I watch these movies," he says. "If I get to do a Fast & Furious movie, it's the one that brought back racing to the forefront. That's my legacy as a director, I wanted to bring cars back to the forefront of Fast & Furious."

Fast X stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, John Cena, Jason Statham, Sung Kang, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren. The film follows Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and his "Fast family" as they face off against a new foe: Jason Momoa's Dante Reyes. As revealed in the trailer, the movie brings it all back to Fast Five as Dante is the son of Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), and he's ready to get revenge for his father's death at the hands of Dom.
This is still a Fast & Furious movie, so of course there are tons of high-octane action scenes that blur the lines between car chase and superhero battle throughout. What would this franchise be without a little NOS-fueled vehicular warfare, after all? But Leterrier also wanted to see Dom face off with Dante in a good, old-fashioned street race for one of the movie's biggest moments.

"That was so important to me," he says. "That was not in the script, it's something I added. I actually wanted a street race — I hadn't seen a street race for a while and I wanted the antagonist to be a driver, I wanted to see our actors behind the wheel, I wanted to create special cameras and rigs to fly through the cars like we've never seen before. I did all that stuff and that was my dream come true."
Fast X races into theaters this weekend.

Fast X mid-credits scene shockingly brings back
Spoilers ahead!

Sydney Bucksbaum

Warning: This story contains spoilers for Fast X.

You can't take the Fast & Furious franchise back to Fast Five without bringing back Luke Hobbs (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson).

After Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) spends all of Fast X going after Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) family for revenge for the death of his father, Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), at the end of the fifth movie, it felt wrong that Hobbs wasn't being targeted too. He was the one who shot Hernan point-blank, delivering the actual killing blow, after all.

Thankfully, the Fast X mid-credits scene solves that particular plot hole following the movie's approximately 10 other cliffhangers. After Dante believes he's finished his mission to make Dom pay for killing his father, he shifts his attention to Hobbs. But viewers don't know that at first.

The mid-credits scene begins as a group of masked soldiers infiltrate an abandoned theater. As they get deeper inside, one of them breaks off from the group and walks onstage to what is clearly a trap set by Dante. It's identical to the one he laid for Dom earlier in the film, filled with TV screens and a ringing phone in the center.

The soldier answers the call and hears Dante's voice on the other end, accusing him of taking someone away from him. Dante explains that while Dom was driving the car, "You pulled the trigger."

The scene then cuts away to that specific moment in Fast Five where Hobbs shoots and kills Hernan on the bridge. "Now I'm going to make you suffer," Dante continues speaking. "The devil's coming for you, lawman." The soldier then takes off his mask to reveal it's none other than Hobbs himself, as he replies, "I ain't hard to find, you sumb----," and he literally crushes the phone.

It makes sense story-wise that Hobbs would ultimately be brought back into the fold if the villain's entire mission was getting revenge for his father's death. But it's shocking that Johnson's back at all, given the highly publicized behind-the-scenes drama between him and Diesel.

It all began with Johnson's Instagram post in 2016 calling unnamed male costars "candy asses" after working on The Fate of the Furious, and spiraled from there. "When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling — you're right," he wrote on Instagram.

It later came out that these remarks were directed at Diesel. The two continued to trade loaded comments back and forth in several interviews. But in 2021, Diesel publicly begged Johnson to return for Fast X, seemingly wanting to put their feud to rest. Johnson refused, claiming he'd never come back to the main franchise after his Hobbs & Shaw spin-off.

It's important to note that Johnson and Diesel don't actually share the screen together in the Fast X mid-credits scene, so it's hard to speculate what this means for the next film in the franchise (or if they've finally put their beef with each other to rest). Diesel has already called the 11th film Fast X Part 2, and as Fast X leaves off on many cliffhangers, could Johnson's return play into the main story moving forward if Dom and Hobbs team up against Dante? Will Johnson and Diesel continue to keep their characters separated in the sequel?

We'll have to wait and see how the drama — both on- and off-screen — continues.

Fast X is now playing in theaters.

Fast X director says

Louis Leterrier says he had to convince the actor that it was the right decision for the character...and the family.

Warning: This story contains spoilers for Fast X.
The Fast & Furious family lost one of their own in Fast X.
Sociopathic villain Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) spends the whole movie targeting Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) out of revenge for the death of his father, Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), at the end of Fast Five. But it's Dom's family who pays the ultimate price since Dante lives by the code his father taught him: "Never accept death when suffering is owed."

In the final action scene, Dante tried to kidnap and kill Dom's son, Little Brian (Leo Abelo Perry). In the ensuing chase, Dom's brother Jakob (John Cena) sacrificed himself to save them from Dante's men. Jakob flipped his cannon car upside down, crashing into the group of cars chasing after Dom and Little B, and he died in the massive explosion. "That was my idea," Fast X director Louis Leterrier tells EW. "That's one of the things I came up with early on."

When Leterrier first met Cena to discuss the plot of Fast X, he was shocked at how kind Cena was in real life after playing the villain in the previous film. "I'm like, 'That man can be a badass but cannot be a bad guy. There's no mean bone in his body,'" the director remembers. "That's why my interpretation of his character, as you saw, he's quite different [from F9]. He is my interpretation of Uncle Jakob — he learns to be an uncle and care for someone when he felt he was never loved, and now he loves someone. He felt the love when Little B hugs him and says, 'I love you, Uncle Jakob,' when Mia tells him, 'Protect him with your life,' all that stuff."
When Leterrier revealed his plan to kill off Jakob in a heroic way, Cena was, understandably, shocked. In fact, it took a little convincing. "I said to John, 'You will have to sacrifice yourself, to give the ultimate gift to your brother to save his son,' and it upset him," Leterrier says.
The director remembers explaining his reasoning behind the death to Cena as they were filming Cena's big fight scene in the Toretto house at the beginning of the movie. "I pitched him between two takes as I'm over there resetting the camera," Leterrier says. "I pitched him this thing and then he loved it. And that literally changed his performance because he understood where he was going. 'I'm going to give so much love so then the sacrifice really hurts.' And it really does hurt."

But at the rate this franchise keeps bringing family back from the dead, we likely haven't seen the last of Jakob ... right? Right?!
Fast X is now playing in theaters.

Ludacris celebrates Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony with his family and Fast X costars

Onscreen and off, family comes first.

Family is more than just a Fast & Furious meme: for Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, it's a lifestyle.
On Thursday, girl-dad Ludacris made sure to put family first while receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Fast X actor celebrated his achievement with all four of his daughters — Chance, Cadence, Cai, and Karma — along with his wife, Eudoxie Bridges.
Other ceremony attendees include Ludacris' Fast & Furious costars Vin Diesel and Tyrese Gibson, his End of the Road costar Queen Latifah and fellow rapper LL Cool J. After taking a few minutes to praise his longtime costar for his many achievements, Vin Diesel introduced the night's surprise guest, Karma.

Ludacris was unaware that his eldest daughter Karma would be in attendance. While he thought she was at a school event across the country, she was actually lingering backstage, waiting to surprise her father with a heartfelt speech. She started by dedicating her words directly to him, saying: "To my rock, my hero, my dad, words can't describe how much being here for you today means to me."

She explained that despite convincing him otherwise, she always planned to attend the ceremony. "After receiving your text on Thursday asking if I could make it to LA for your Hollywood star, it took everything in me to come up with an excuse of why I couldn't make it here today," Karma told her father. "The truth is, I wouldn't miss it for the world."
She ended her speech by saying, "Congratulations to a legend of an artist and a legend of a father."
While famous for treasuring his onscreen Fast & Furious family, Ludacris has long been open about his dedication to his daughters. In 2021, he created an animated love letter to his eldest with the Netflix series Karma's World, which centers a young girl learning to stay true to herself.

"A lot of the episodes are based on real-life situations that Karma actually went through," Ludacris told EW ahead of the series debuted.
As executive producer and the voice of Karma's father, Ludacris also shared that his dream guest star would be Karma herself. "Because she's so busy with school, she hasn't voiced any of the characters, and it would actually be dope to at least get Karma to do a guest appearance," he said at the time. "That would be amazing. She has grown up to be the absolute best human being on Earth, and I couldn't be more proud."

Got to see it last night.

Believe it or not, it wasn't half-bad.

Of course you got the outrageous stunts, which was actually referenced to multiple times in the actual movies by Dante. I mean, on the nose mentions.

But they did something a little different. They moved the cast to secondary & made Vin the main character. And with Dante/Jason Momoa acting/hamming it up the whole movie....it did something that you wouldn't expect.

It made Vin Diesel start acting. This might be the first time since the 1st FF that Super-Dom goes away & you get to see Dom act emotional, stressed & tired. Weak, even. Hell, even his super-stunts look like they taking the piss out of him. It made me think that the last movie will be the end of Dom.

Now don't get me wrong, it's not a drama & I'm not singing the praises of Vin's acting. But if you pay attention, you'll see it.

Don't worry about Brie Larson, she ain't getting NO spinoff. She was trash & just a middleman for a good fight scene we've been waiting for.

Michelle Rodriguez is starting to get that wrinkly thing on her lips that old Latin ladies get once they hit that age. It's not cute.

And whoever did makeup for Charlize Theron is a miracle worker. Cause she looked a whole lot younger than usual. CGI maybe? But they didn't use it on Dom, tho....I wonder if that's intentional...

There are three major surprises (I saw one was already spoiled) & the #1 question you'll ask leaving the theater is....where the hell is Brian? You'll understand when you see the movie.

I give it a 6 out of 10. One of the best in the series so far.

Fast & the Fizzle

PRAISE : I know what to expect from this franchise. Extreme and over the top action. Characters surviving situations that should be life ending or at least causing multiple injuries. Comic relief from the same Characters and tech I wish existed in the real world. This movie makes a U Turn back to Fast Five and Jason Momoa’s Dante, the son of bad guy, Hernan Reyes is seeking revenge on Dom for the infamous vault heist.
He is sadistic and then some and Momoa looks like he's having the most fun and yes it was fun to watch him chew up scenery with swagger but I swear in one scene he looked like Aladdin and I bet he picked out the outfit himself. John Cena's complete personality change from the last film was pretty funny. I half expected him to put on his Peacemaker helmet
All of the aforementioned about this franchise is in place but the movie does take a road back briefly to what these movies used to be about which I enjoyed especially when the stakes were raised in a standout scene.
I liked the call backs to previous FF films.
Praise to all that put these action sequences together. I enjoyed a lot of the hand to hand fights.

PROBLEMS: The inclusion of Dom's son Brian in an action sequence was kind of well I will use the abbreviation WTF !?!
I know I should be used to the silly antics in these movies but at times in this one, it felt like time wasting filler.
Some very predictable moments throughout laced with cheesiness.
Some characters time in the film was so brief it was laughable. This movie really wants to be a Marvel film.

Fast X definitely doesn't have the usual FF ending and sets up several things that Fast 11 and possibly 12 are on my watch lists...what can i say im a completest

Scale of 1 to 10 a 6½
