Battle drone Netflix

This was alright, nothing special. I would still recommend watching it, if you dont mind wasting time.

Game over man Netlfix

This is from the guys that produced Workaholics. This was meh, alot of this was corny. But there was some funny parts here and there.

The lion share Netlfix

There is a thread made on this documentary https://www.bgol.us/forum/threads/white-folks-stole-the-lion-king.1027785/#post-19524627
After watching this I definitely dont feel sorry for the music industry. This was the best thing I watched yesterday.

Saw US last weekend. Quite enjoyed it. Solid double performance from Lupita ... enjoyed the musical selections/score throughout.

Saw the Derrick Rose documentary on Friday. Have always appreciated Rose's humble nature and humility as a superstar. Definitely had a major impact on his city & team. Tough to see the criticism he endured during his injury rehab(s) and missing 250+ games while there. Close-knit family with his mom & brothers.

Saw Booksmart earlier today. Funny in the realm of Superbad, and with heart. Good to see Jonah Hill's sister doing well in her career - very funny in her own right - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/booksmart

Late on this one but I just started watching Queen of the South on Netflix....its good to me, a little rediculous at times but Alice Braga keeps me coming back

Everytime I see the commercial with her in white pants, I question why am i not watching that. I see its on Netflix now

decent movie
the pacing was too slow
too much star power that was barely used and honestly not needed
should have just been clint and a bunch of nobodies
someone said that clint looked likw he could die any minute
laughed my ass off cause its true
wouldnt watch it again
6/10

Agreed. Hoped for more screen time from Michael Pena and Bradley Cooper respectively. Both good actors in their own right. It would have provided additional tension for the plot. Saw it late last year.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

The king has returned along with some friends and foes.

PRAISE:Yes unlike the 2014 Godzilla we actually get to see Godzilla in action !! Kudos to all of the people behind the SFX and sound, who truly wanted to bring a monster mash spectacle to the big screen.
The standouts in the cast are:Ken Watanabe, Zhang Ziyi,Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, and Vera Farmiga who were able to work around a weak script.
Nice nods to Godzilla films of the 1960's.Thanks for giving me back a little of my childhood.
Rodan,Mothra, and Ghidorahall get modern makeovers.
Also high praise for throwing in a couple of surprises.

PROBLEMS: Predictable with a couple of plot holes. There's one plot turn i saw coming 30 minutes into the movie. The script is clunky with lame one liners. There were some characters...i...well i prayed for them to stop talking.Characters made ridiculous and eye rolling decisions during the films climax.

Not perfect but fun. Bring on Kong !!

MA

Octavia Spencer ....im kind of scared of you now

PRAISE:There's a nice set up to the story in which Maggie Thompson( Diana Silvers)moves with her mother Erica(Juliette Lewis) to Erica's hometown in Ohio. They're both adjusting to their new lives. Both actresses and their characters are highly likeable.
But this is Octavia Spencers movie all the way !!
She deadpans, flirts, scolds and drifts off to such a level i didnt know what to expect from her character and i liked it.It's a simple story start with a bunch of high schoolers including Maggie asking MA/Sue Ann to buy them some booze.Soon she's inviting a large amount of high schoolers to her home. But when they try to part ways with MA things take a scary turn and things start to come to light

There is a campiness to the film that i really enjoyed.I liked how the story slowly revealed MA's origin and i was amused by her actions and salty mouth. Also there was a sadness around the film's edges that i wasnt expecting.

PROBLEMS: Predictable moments. The film touches on something rather quickly but is never really explored. The film has a small town setting and something pretty horrible happens but it's never spoken of,and it definitely would have been the talk of the town.

This was a fun one.I would definitely like to see more thrillers like MA

Broad City Hulu
I finished watching the series last Saturday. And the last season was unfortunately wack. There was only a hand few of good episodes. If anyone is interested in watching the series. I would watch seasons 1-4. Then skip to the last couple of episodes story wise.

Workaholics Hulu
I was hearing some people at work was saying this was better than Always Sunny in Phillidelphia. So after finishing up Broad city, I started checking this show out. The first season was solid, after that this shit got progressively worst. Only to pick up during season 6 and parts of season 7. After watching the series. I can tell you this shit is nothing like always sunny. Always Sunny is light years ahead of this shit.

Finished up the Our Planet docu' series yesterday.

Has anyone watched any of these series: Loaded, Uncle, Tacoma FD, Brockmire, or YOU?

I saw the first few episodes of brockmire late last year on HULU. And I thought it was funny. I forgot all about it actually. But im going to start watching that again. Only thing is Hulu only has the first 2 seasons. The 3rd season isnt available on there.

Thanks - yeah - enjoyed the 1st episode of Brockmire. One of the podcasts I listen to ... the host is a fan of the series & recommended it to two of their co-hosts on-air ... I jotted the name down then. Found the 1st season when browsing one of the TV/movie sites.

Mel Gibson`s son did his thing in this...Chris put in work too...

def recommend this not sure if anybody posted this yet ...

Deuces Netflix

This movie for me was alright. The story is predictable, but I still liked it. I would recommend watching this if your bored and got nothing to do.

True to the game Netflix/Youtube

This is watchable. But like the movie above its predictable. But I stayed with the movie. Because its a black film and mostly black cast. And the Eye Candy, especially erica peoples and draya michele.

Never Heard Netflix

This was a good movie.

A.X.L Netflix

This movie may look corny. But this is actually good.

First Impression Netflix

I guess this is supposed to be a romantic comedy. But I really didn't find this funny. But I liked the story anyways. I would still recommend this movie. If anybody wants to watch something involving an mostly black cast.

Dark Phoenix

The X-men say goodbye to foX and helllllllllllllooooooo to Disney/Marvel

PRAISE: I went in with eXtremely low eXpectations after all of the terrible things i have heard about Dark PhoeniX for almost a year now.
Fortunately i was able to embrace some of the plot. The mutant co eXisting with human story thread is still strong.Performances by James McAvoy,Sophie Turner,Nicholas Hoult and Michael Fassbender are strong.A good portion of the SFX is glorious to take in.Some good dramatic moments are laced in with some terrific action sequences.

PROBLEMS:Jennifer Lawrence is basically around long enough to deliver an SJW gut punch.Jessica Chastain is absolutely terrible in the movie.I kept looking at her and saying to myself, why is she standing there like that? Why is she delivering her lines in such a spaced out manner? Come on Jessica you're better than this !!
There are some TV shows and movies that are able to overcome changes to canon, swapped out story threads and characters Dark PhoeniX is not one of those movies.
I could actually see the limitations in this film as it played out. It's a shame how they decided to sum up almost 20 years of films in a dry, laughable and eye roll inducing way.

Im not sure if New Mutants will ever make it to the big screen, but i know i will definitely wait until it hits cable or a streaming service.

:eek2: this motherfucker done dropped another one? This dude keeps dropping gems under the radar. I loved Brawl in Cell Block 99. Throwback guy movie. I thought Vince Vaughn put in work that was nomination worthy, and then I went and discovered Bone Tomahawk on Prime. It's a shame Zahler hasn't blown up yet.

His stuff can run a little long, but I think he's one of the most distinct filmmakers working right now. Props for this. I'm definitely gonna have to be on the lookout.

Never paid attention to dudes name but saw all three films, dayum good shyt .....

It's because Jessica Chastain is supposed to be a skrull/alien...which didn't make sense to have her in the role. That could have been anyone. They paid her a lot of money for nothing just to have a named villain.

Quick reviews

Booksmart. I liked it, it wasn't as funny as I expected. I like coming of age movies. It was entertaining to me, but not all that funny if that makes sense.

Godzilla...didn't like it. I thought the script and story sucked. It was the same thing as usual.

Brightburn...the name describes it...it was a slow burn, that didn't really pay off. You like what it could have been more than it was. It was just meh. With a rated R and the premise it should have been so much more. I feel like most people could come up with a more entertaining and creative story than the one they presented. He didn't even use his powers to get at the so called bully.

I saw Ma yesterday. It was much better than I expected it to be

This

it was entertaining.
